One of the world's most famous horse races takes place at Churchill Downs on May 7th, as many of North America's best three-year-olds do battle in the Kentucky Derby. The winner of this year's Derby will hand connections a huge first prize of $1.86m and viewers can look forward to a typically thrilling renewal.

Steve Asmussen is yet to saddle the Kentucky Derby winner, but it's his main runner Epicentre who tops the ante-post betting. Winner of the Gun Runner Stakes back in December, Epicentre has risen to the top of the Derby standings following victories in the Risen Star and the Louisianna Derby last time out.
Santa Anita Derby winner, Taiba sits closest to the market leader in the Kentucky Derby betting. Zandon, who ran out an impressive winner of the Grade One Blue Grass Stakes last time out, can also be backed at a single-figure price.
Wood Memorial winner, Mo Donegal and Florida Derby winner, White Abarrio sit prominently in the Kentucky Derby market. Messier drifted slightly after losing out to Taiba in the Santa Anita Derby. Charge It was beaten by White Abarrio at Gulfstream last month, but he too holds a short price in the Kentucky Derby betting.
