Race 1 - Churchill Distaff Mile Tips
#6 LADY SPEIGHTSPEARE endured a tough trip last time out. She didn’t break and got caught against the flow of the race. I think she could prove the best speed today, in her second start off the layoff, stalking #7 In Italian.

Race 2 - Knicks Go Overnight Stakes Tips
#8 INJUNCTION has a puncher’s chance to be best speed and can hang on for at least a piece.
#4 Dream Shake is a horse I’ve always liked. He’s moving the right way and can run well in his second run off the bench.
#2 Shared Sense fits well with these and is another I’ll include.

Race 3 - Pat Day Mile Tips
#5 JACK CHRISTOPHER is training like he’s going to come back fully formed. He’s speedy, but also has plenty of finish. If you look at the numbers he was running as a two-year-old and project in figure improvement for age, he could bury them.
#11 My Prankster had a real tricky trip last time, and now is second off the layoff. This tough, consistent is a good candidate to move up.
#1 Major General proved the best of speed in the Lexington and is interesting once again as a horse for underneath.

Race 4 - Derby City Distaff Tips
#4 KIMARI will benefit tremendously from the scratch of Lady Rocket and should be able to prove the best of speed.
#6 Bell’s the One made a move into a fast pace last time and is now second off the layoff. I like her chances to reverse form with She’s the One.
#5 Obligatory loves it around Churchill Downs and is back in good form.
Selection: Bet #4 KIMARI to win.
Race 5 - American Turf Stakes Tips
#7 SY DOG closed with impressive alacrity at Keeneland, despite an unfavorable setup. Today he should get a great setup and I think he might be tough to beat.
#6 Portfolio Company is a Chad Brown comebacker who looks to be training well for his return to the races. I think he’ll get a good, forward trip, probably stalking and pouncing and I’m enthusiastic about his chances
#5 Balnikov has lots of late kick for our friends at Little Red Feather racing.
Selection: Bet #7 SY DOG to win.
Race 6 - Churchill Downs Stakes Tips
#3 JACKIE’S WARRIOR gets the ideal setup to get back to winning ways. He’s the best speed and there’s not a ton of it. As of this writing, Steve Asmussen has been struggling, but I like this horse regardless.
#6 Prevalence has gotten really good. He’s sharp and in good form, and if the top one doesn’t fire for whatever reason, he’s going to get an absolutely perfect trip.
#1 Aloha West is your Breeders’ Cup Sprint winner and looks the best closer, and the one to benefit should they go too fast.
Selection: Bet #3 JACKIE’S WARRIOR to win.
Race 7 - Old Forester Bourbon Turf Classic Tips
#1 IVAR looks to me like the fastest horse with the best form. He’s also well-drawn and should get plenty of pace to set up his late run.
#8 Adhamo ran well under impossible circumstances last time. He should be tighter in his second start in North America and should be seen to much better effect.
#6 Shirl’s Speight is a runner I’ve always liked and he’ll be positioned in front of top two. It’s possible that last time was the time you wanted to bet him but he’s still interesting.

Race 8 - Kentucky Derby Tips
On the win end, I like two horses. One option is to play them against the field. In the case of my top selection, #1 MO DONEGAL, I might wait at this point. I think the market may react to the draw and push him out beyond 10-1. And if tote betting is an option, I think he could be longer there on the day as well.
#10 ZANDON is the one you probably want to bet sooner rather than later. At 8-1 in places as of this writing, that’s simply too big. The USA morning line maker made him an almost unbelievably low 3-1. His true price is between those. I’d probably be happy at 5-1.
In terms of exotics, I’ll look to play those two in reverse forecasts with the four-star runners listed above, maybe throwing in another two runners too, so 1-10 with 3-5-6-8-10-12-13.
