2025 Bahrain International Trophy Runners
Having saddled the runner-up in each of the past two seasons, the Gosden's will be hoping to see Lion's Pride go one better on Friday. Rab Havlin's mount had been enduring a disappointing campaign, but returned to form with an emphatic victory over Isle Of Jura in the Godolphin Stakes.
Military Order flattened Lion's Pride when winning the Magnolia Stakes in the spring, and returns to the Middle East on the back of two runner-up finishes at Group Three level. Richard Hannon's Persica has struck twice at Group Three level this term, and he'll be partnered by Britain's Champion Jockey, Oisin Murphy.
The strongest form in the field belongs to Royal Champion, who romped to victory in the Group Two York Stakes before placing third in the Irish Champion Stakes. Ralph Beckett's Pride Of Arras has recorded two Group Two wins this term, scoring in the Dante and the Great Voltigeur Stakes at York.
The locally-trained Calif will have his third outing in this valuable contest, having finished third and ninth in the two previous renewals. Andre Fabre is represented by 2024 Prix Eugene Adam winner, Bright Picture. Joseph O'Brien's Alleged Stakes scorer, Galen rounds off the field.

Karl Burke's horses ended the British flat season in fantastic form, and ROYAL CHAMPION would be a worthy winner of this valuable contest.
Despite his advancing years, Royal Champion produced a career-best performance when scoring in the York Stakes, where Clifford Lee's mount travelled powerfully behind the front runners and strode three lengths clear in the final two furlongs. Burke's seven-year-old equalled that effort in the Irish Champion Stakes, where the 18/1 outsider placed third behind two bona fide Group One horses in Delacroix and Anmaat.
Burke's star is used to travelling, having had a spell racing in Australia. Doyle's mount also romped to victory in the 2023 Wolferton Stakes during the Royal meeting at Ascot - a track which holds many similarities with the circuit in Bahrain.
