A strong card takes place at the Curragh on Sunday, with the Irish Cesarewitch handicap headlining the schedule.

We've picked out three best betting tips for Sunday's card at the Curragh.

Curragh Tips - Sunday 27th September

2:35pm Curragh - Renaissance Stakes Tips

Karl Burke has won this Group Three twice before, and SOUL LOVE (2/1) is a fair price to add to that tally on Sunday.

Burke's filly won both of her starts on the all-weather and is two from five since switching to turf. Soul Love bounced back from a poor turf debut in France by landing the Chelmer Fillies' Stakes at Goodwood in May and picked up her second Listed win of the season when scoring in the Yeomanstown Stud Stakes at Naas in July.

Pierre-Louis Jamin's mount was narrowly beaten by Flora Of Bermuda in the Summer Stakes between those victories and was pipped to the post by the dangerous Chantez on her most recent outing in the Ballyogan. Fellow three-year-old filly Royal Bay Cen is interesting on her return from an absence, but she'll have to go some to beat Soul Love, whose consistency should be rewarded with a maiden Group success this weekend.

3:45pm Curragh - Darley Fillies Stakes Tips

Only twice in the last 20 years has a once-raced filly won the Darley. The top two in the market for Sunday's renewal, Curracloe and Value Pending, come into this Group Three on the back of a solitary maiden win, and I'm inclined to take them on with the vastly more experienced DAMSEL IN DISTRESS (5/1).

Daniel McLoughlin's filly defied odds of 11/1 to win on her second maiden start at Roscommon in June. Damsel In Distress then kept on well to finish fourth behind Alwaysanangel, Madame Secretary and Maire Rua in the Firville Stakes before seeing out a mile well when beaten a length by Sea Of Rain and Ballyskeagh in the Newtownanner Stakes here at the Curragh a month ago.

Colin Keane's mount drops down in trip today, but this will be the softest ground that Damsel In Distress has encountered this season, and she seems the type who will relish a juicy surface. McLoughlin's filly boasts form with many of the top Irish juveniles in the division, and Damsel In Distress can make her experience count on Sunday.

4:20pm Curragh - Irish Cesarewitch Tips

Joseph O'Brien won this with the favourite Puturhandstogether 12 months ago and with the 150/1 outsider Magellan Straight in 2023. Incredibly, Joseph will saddle 14 of the 30 runners in Sunday's big handicap, and that strength of numbers gives him around a 40% chance of winning.

It would be folly not to back at least one of the O'Brien brigade, and the one who seems most overpriced to me is KINGSTONIAN (25/1). O'Brien's four-year-old was sent off as the 6/4 favourite for the Chester Plate back in May but was narrowly beaten on the day by Shrimp Shady, who is now rated 10 pounds higher after following up at Newbury.

Kingstonian has attempted to make all over shorter trips on his two most recent Flat starts, finishing ninth here at the Curragh in May and a close fourth to Thread Of Gold at the Galway Festival. O'Brien's gelding was last seen losing out by two lengths in a very good maiden hurdle at Killarney in August, so he comes into this in decent form. Nathan Crosse's mount will shoulder a lovely racing weight of 8-10, and a first-time visor could help in this large-field handicap.

Another who has landed a favourable high draw is HOLY SEE (50/1). William Durkan's hurdler made a winning return to the Flat under Jamie Orr at Gowran Park in April and was narrowly beaten by Comfort Zone in the valuable Connacht Hotel Handicap on the opening day of the Galway Festival.

Durkan's raider finished last of ten on his most recent Flat start at Chester, where the top weight was slowly away from his wide draw and was eased down well before the finish. That run is easily forgivable, and Orr's claim sees Holy See enter Sunday's feature carrying 9-1. On this season's form, Holy See is wildly overpriced.
