2025 Dick Poole Fillies' Stakes Runners
Awaken finished second to future Group One winner Venetian Sun in the Albany at Royal Ascot, and comfortably justified odds of 1/12 to score in a maiden at Leicester. Flowerhead was also a runner-up at Royal Ascot, but has since finished fifth in the Princess Margaret before a narrow defeat as the even-money favourite in a Listed sprint at Newbury.
National Stakes and Super Sprint winner, Anthelia remains over six furlongs, despite two limp performances over this distance. Oisin Murphy rides the unbeaten Golden Palace for Richard Fahey, with Rossa Ryan partnering with Ralph Beckett's Goodwood maiden winner, Planet Seeker.
Palmeira finished second ahead of Flowerhead in the St Hugh Stakes at Newbury. Orion's Belt will be looking for more black-type, after a third-place finish in the Star Stakes at Sandown.
Chicory jumped up into pattern company for the first time, having beaten favourite Tarot in a maiden at Newbury last week. The field is completed by Eve Johnson Houghton's Reimagined, and Vishaka for David Simcock.

Palace Pier has had three pattern winners in recent weeks and GOLDEN PALACE (15/2) could add to her first season sire's tally.
Richard Fahey's youngster won nicely on debut at Beverley, where she overcame a tricky spot on the rail to win going away from more experienced rivals. Again at York, Golden Palace was caught on the wrong side of the track, but dragged herself into contention and kicked clear under a penalty to score by almost two lengths.
Oisin Murphy's mount has only received two RPRs in the 70s for those wins, but I was mightily impressed by both performances. Golden Palace is a half-sister to Group Two-winning sprinter Ladies Church and, as I intimated earlier, Palace Pier has made an excellent start to his first season in the paddock. From a kind draw in stall eight, Fahey's filly can challenge her highly-rated rivals.
