The 2022/23 National Hunt season wraps up at Sandown on Saturday, where the Grade One Celebration Chase headlines an excellent card. Along with five strong races from Sandown, ITV viewers will take in a couple of valuable flat handicaps from Leicester and Haydock.

ITV Racing Tips - Saturday 29th April

Race 1 - Novices' Championship Final Handicap Hurdle Tips

Paul Nicholls and Nicky Henderson runners dominate the betting for this wide-open handicap. I'd rather have a small each-way bet on ARQOOB (16/1), who was a winner on the flat here at Sandown and was sent over hurdles after reaching a flat mark of 94.

Lucy Wadham's recruit has won one of his four hurdles starts so far, while also finishing second to both Imperial Bede and Russian Ruler. Arqoob could be a little slicker in the jumping department, but Bryony Frost's mount certainly seems well-handicapped off his current jumps mark of 114.

Race 3 - bet365 Gold Cup Tips

Kitty's Light has placed in the last two runnings of this lucrative handicap. This time, Christian Williams star returns to Sandown on the back of an excellent win in the Scottish Grand National and Jack Tudor's mount runs off the same mark. The favourite's claims are clearly strong, but a seven-day turnaround is hardly ideal and market leaders have a poor record in this contest.

I'd rather have a punt on REVELS HILL (7/1), who was backed into short-priced favouritism for the London National here earlier in the season, but met trouble in-running and could only stay on to place fourth. Harry Fry's charge has run very well in defeat twice since then and remains on a highly workable mark. Of the fancied runners, he's the one I like most.

Further down the betting, MUSICAL SLAVE (20/1) catches the eye. Philip Hobbs' charge kept on from the rear to finish second behind the ultra-impressive Hewick in this race 12 months ago. Things didn't go to plan in the Kim Muir, but Aidan Coleman's mount ran up to an RPR of 140 when winning at Exeter on his penultimate start and Musical Slave will carry the same weight as last year.

Race 4 - bet365 Oaksey Chase Tips

On paper, this seems like a fairly straightforward task for HEWICK (6/4), who ran out an eight-length winner of last season's bet365 Gold Cup here at Sandown.

Shark Hanlon's star went on to win the Galway Plate and the American Grand National before a well-deserved winter break. Hewick was last seen falling at the second-last in the Gold Cup at Cheltenham, where Jordan Gainford's mount had just started to fade having been up with the pace throughout.

Hanlon bypassed the Punchestown Gold Cup in favour of a return to Sandown. Rachael Blackmore is missing the final day of the Punchestown Festival to take the ride and Hewick sits ten pounds clear of his closest rival in the ratings.

Race 5 - King Richard III Cup Tips

Having ended his three-year-old campaign with an impressive victory on heavy ground at Haydock, AL MUBHIR (2/1) was backed into favouritism for the Lincoln. William Haggas' charge raced a little freely on his reappearance, but kept on well to finish four lengths behind Migration in fifth.

Al Mubhir returns to action running off the same mark and Haggas has booked Champion Jockey William Buick to take the ride. On favourably soft ground, it's hard to look past the favourite.

Race 6 - Novices' Handicap Chase Tips

Despite an error at the last, HUDSON DE GRUGY (5/1) managed to hold off Quel Destin and win the Grade 3 Novices' Handicap Chase here at Sandown on Imperial Cup day. Gary Moore's six-year-old has only been pushed up the handicap by three pounds for that victory and Jamie Moore's mount will be getting plenty of weight from all of his main rivals in the betting.

Race 7 - Racing TV Handicap Tips

An interesting contender in Saturday's final ITV races is TUSCAN (14/1). Richard Kingscote's mount was thrown up to a mark of 105 following a winning reappearance at Newmarket last season and went on to run fairly well in some high-profile races during the rest of the season.

Since his final outing in September, Tuscan has been gelded and moved from Charlie Hills to David O'Meara's yard. O'Meara has a very good record with horses recruited from other yards and Tuscan will make his stable debut running off a reduced mark of 95.

Verdict

ITV Racing at Sandown, Haydock and Leicester

Hewick is our best bet from Saturday's ITV races. Al Mubhir is our next best. Revels Hill is our best value bet.
