The main event on Friday's ITV Racing coverage at Newmarket is the Joel Stakes. This Group Two has been won by many classy milers during it's 35-year history, including Creachadoir, Time Test and the only two-time winner, Benbatl.

2022 Joel Stakes Runners
Leading the way in the betting we find Potapova, who ended her losing run by winning the Atalanta Stakes last time out. Sitting second is Tempus, who's racked up a hat-trick of lucrative wins, including victories in the Sovereign Stakes and the Prix Quincey out in Deauville last time out.
Charlie Hill's four-year-old Mutasaabeq will be looking to bounce back after a disappointing run in the Celebration Mile at Goodwood. Pogo will step up to a mile, following a series of excellent runs in some of Britain's most high-profile seven-furlong contests.
George Boughey's hardy three-year-old, Oscula represents the fillies in Friday's main event. El Drama runs for the in-form Roger Varian. Stan Moore's three-year-old, The Wizard Of Eye rounds off the field at Newmarket racecourse.
2022 Joel Stakes Tips
I'm going to place my faith in Ryan Moore's mount, POTAPOVA, after that superb victory in the Atalanta Stakes last time out.
Sir Michael Stoute and Cheveley Park have always thought highly of this filly, throwing her into Group One company on the back of two maiden victories. Having fallen to seven-straight pattern-race defeats, Potapova finally put her best foot forward at Sandown, where she flew home from the rear of the field to seal an impressive victory.
Stoute's filly was sent off at 18/1 that day and still managed to stamp her class on the field, beating a talented three-year-old in Grande Dame by almost two lengths. This will be the first time Potapova has faced off against the colts, but that seemed to be a coming-of-age victory at Sandown and I think there's every chance she will build on that display.
Verdict
Potapova is our best bet in Friday's Joel Stakes.
