The 2026 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe meeting kicks off with a fantastic card at Longchamp on Saturday. Two Group Ones, the Prix du Cadran and the Prix de Royallieu headline the action, with three further pattern races also featuring on the schedule.

Here are our best betting tips for the major races at Longchamp on Saturday.

Longchamp Tips - Saturday 3rd October

12:23pm Longchamp - Qatar Prix Chaudenay Tips

Despite the overwhelmingly strong record that British and Irish raiders have in this Group Three, Pierre Bonnard is worth taking on, and I'm siding with VICTOIRE MAGIQUE (9/2).

Amy Murphy's colt has won all three of his starts over 15 furlongs this season. Victoire Magique won a conditions race at Angers in June before a narrow Listed success at Deauville. Cristian Demuro's mount then saw off Space Walts from the front to land the Prix Gerald de Geoffre.

Murphy has enjoyed plenty of success since basing herself in France, and I'd love to see her claim a big winner at the country's most prestigious meeting. On this season's form, Victoire Magique is the one to beat.

12:58pm Longchamp - Qatar Prix Dollar Tips

While his form might be at a lower level than many of the rivals he will face on Saturday, PHINEAS (9/4) has been super impressive this season and keeps improving with every start.

Andre and Lavinia Fabre's gelding is four from four this term, seeing off some decent rivals with the minimum of fuss. Phineas hammered 2023 Prix Dollar winner Horizon Dore to land Listed honours at Compiegne before a second Listed success at Clairefontaine, where he thrashed a future Group Three winner by almost four lengths.

Maxime Guyon's mount quickened away from his rivals smartly to land the Prix du Prince d'Orange here at Longchamp three weeks ago. Phineas received an RPR of 121 for that victory and didn't seem to break a sweat. There seems to be much more to come from this talented gelding.

3:25pm Longchamp - Prix de Royallieu Tips

The last eight renewals of this Group One have been won by British or Irish raiders. Home runners have struggled for placed horses in that time period too. So, while I remain a big fan of Sunly, the short-priced favourite should be taken on with at least one of the raiding party.

I was hugely impressed with WAARDAH'S (9/2) performance in the Park Hill Stakes at York last month. Owen Burrows' filly was well backed in the build-up and looked a class above her rivals in the end, beating Danielle and Consent by two comfortable lengths.

Waardah has now won two of her three starts over this 14-furlong distance, with her only defeat coming at Glorious Goodwood, where she was touched off by Goodie Two Shoes as she attempted to defend her Lillie Langtry Stakes crown. Callum Rodriguez's mount should be well suited by French ground and by the make-up of the track at Longchamp. She would be a worthy Group One winner.

4:00pm Longchamp - Qatar Prix du Cadran Tips

No point beating around the bush here. SCANDINAVIA (2/5) is by far the best stayer on the planet at the moment and there's no reason to think that he won't preserve his unbeaten seasonal record in Saturday's feature.

4:35pm Longchamp - Daniel Wildenstein Tips

Quddwah is a very solid favourite for our final Group race on Saturday. I think there's more to come from ELASTIC (12/1) before the season is out, though, and he appeals as an each-way punt against the hot favourite.

Group Three-placed at two and a Listed winner on his return, Elastic went into the French 2000 Guineas on the back of a decent third to Komorebi here in the Prix de Fontainebleau. Stephane Pasquier's mount was bumped and barged around for much of the first half of the Poulains and found himself a bit further back than he would have wanted but still managed to finish his race off well to cross the line a fairly close fifth behind Rayif.

In a four-runner renewal of the Prix Bertrand du Breuil, Elastic was forced into making the running but again battled bravely to the line as he tried to wrestle the advantage back from Remmooz. Carlos Ferland has freshened his colt up after a busy first half of the season, and Elastic remains a progressive three-year-old who could cause the more fancied runners some problems.
