Easter Monday means only one thing in racing, Irish Grand National day. ITV Racing will be showing this historic handicap live at 5:00pm, along with eight preceding races from across Fairyhouse, Kempton and Plumpton.

Here are my best betting tips for Monday's ITV races.

ITV Racing Tips - Monday 21st April

2:35pm Plumpton - Sussex Champion Chase Handicap Chase Tips

There should be no shortage of pace on here, as Westport Cove, Asta La Pasta and Sans Bruit all like to lead. That set-up would suit the top-weight and current favourite JPR One. COASTGUARD STATION (12/1) runs from two pounds outside of the handicap, but he also loves to race behind a fast pace and appeals most from an each-way standpoint.

Henry Oliver's star boasts a good record over fences and comes into this contest on the back of a career-best performance at Ascot, where he picked off Kotmask after the last despite a poor jump at the penultimate flight. Good ground has always been to Coastguard Station's advantage and his first three wins over fences all came around left-handed tracks.

2:55pm Kempton - Magnolia Stakes Tips

George Boughey will have been pleased with BOTANICAL'S (10/3) first start for the stable at Doncaster last month and he could take a big step forwards over this more suitable distance.

Billy Loughnane's mount progressed nicely over this distance in 2024, winning at York on his reappearance before runner-up finished in both the John Smith's Cup and the Foundation Stakes at Goodwood. Botanical wasn't unfancied in the Doncaster Mile, but couldn't cope with Dancing Gemini's eight-furlong speed and crossed the line four lengths adrift in third.

Boughey's recruit finished second to the classy and ill-fated Measured Time at Kempton in 2023, so we know he does handle the all-weather. I fancy Botanical will go close in a very competitive Listed race.

3:15pm Fairyhouse - Fairyhouse Steel Handicap Hurdle Tips

Claiming jockeys have ridden the last three winners of this handicap hurdle and I'm interested to see how young Finn Brickley gets on aboard LUCKY LYREEN (16/1). Brickley was in the saddle then Gordon Elliott's seven-year-old produced his best performance of the season so far, finishing third behind Will The Wise in the Pertemps Qualifier at Naas in February.

Lucky Lyreen won the two-and-a-half mile novices handicap on WillowWarm Gold Cup day 12 months ago, where the ground was also verging on bottomless. The handicapper actually dropped his mark by a pound down to 132 for that effort at Naas and Brickley's claimer leaves Lucky Lyreen shouldering just 11-1 in our opening ITV contest at Fairyhouse.

3:30pm Kempton - Handicap Tips

No bet for me here.

3:50pm Fairyhouse - Rathbarry & Glenview Studs Hurdle Tips

I don't fancy backing Kopeck De Mee at such a short price, but I can't find a good value alternative to take the market leader on with. Nothing for me in this one either.

4:20pm Fairyhouse - Jack McInerney Memorial Fairyhouse Chase Tips

Heart Wood brings the best seasonal form into this Grade Two and the bookies have him as the firm favourite. My preference would be to back BLOOD DESTINY (5/1), who thrashed Heart Wood by nine lengths when the two met in a Beginners Chase on heavy ground back in December 2023.

Blood Destiny spent the rest of the season butting heads with Spillane's Tower, beating his rival in the Flyingbolt at Navan before a narrow defeat in the WillowWarm Gold Cup here at Fairyhouse. Willie Mullins' six-year-old was well-beaten on his final outing at Punchestown, but wasn't right following the race and didn't make his reappearance this term until January.

Paul Townend's mount ran like he needed the outing when finishing third to Appreciate It and Classic Getaway at Thurles, on good ground which wouldn't have suited. Conditions on Sunday should be much more to his liking and Blood Destiny hasn't finished outside the frame in three previous runs at this venue.
