The final Group One of the British flat season takes place at Doncaster on Saturday, as a classy field of colts battles it out in the Futurity Trophy. Along with three races from Doncaster and two from Newbury, we'll head back to Cheltenham for day two of their Showcase Meeting.

Here are my best betting tips at Cheltenham, Doncaster and Newbury on Saturday.

ITV Racing Tips - Saturday 26th October

1:10pm Cheltenham - Novices' Limited Handicap Chase Tips

Chances can be given to plenty in this competitive opener. At a price, I like BOB BOB RICARD (11/1), who won both of his first two starts over fences during the summer.

Jonjo & AJ O'Neill's six-year-old took his chance in the Fixed Brush Hurdle Series Final at Worcester last month and didn't run badly at all when fifth behind future Persian War winner, Flying Fortune. Bob Bob Ricard jumped proficiently during those two summer victories and this new chasing mark of 124 could still be lenient.

1:30pm Doncaster - Prospect Stakes Tips

I'm starting to wind down my flat bets as the season draws to a close and there are too many unknown quantities in this one for me to part with my cash. No bet.

1:45pm Cheltenham - Novices' Hurdle Tips

Four of the five runners in this novice hurdle are trained in Ireland and Patrick Mullins partners Fine Margin for Champion Trainer, Willie Mullins. Early season meetings at Cheltenham, however, are Gavin Cromwell's bag, so I'm happy to take Fine Margin on with MILLFORCE (2/1).

Cromwell's five-year-old took down an odds-on favourite of Emmet Mullins' to make a winning debut under rules at Bellewstown in August, and was only narrowly beaten by another Willie runner, Luckinthecity over three miles at Cork two weeks ago. Millforce jumped his hurdles like a chaser that day, which isn't surprising considering he ran in six point-to-points. Stamina will be more important than hurdling proficiency on Saturday, though, and Keith Donoghue's mount has that in abundance.

2:05pm Doncaster - Handicap Tips

At a massive price, I'll chance my arm with GOOD EARTH (33/1), who is a previous course winner with three soft ground victories to his name.

Barring a limp effort at York last time out, Michael Herrington's seven-year-old has been in good form in 2024. Good Earth claimed back-to-back wins at Newmarket and Sandown at the end of August and was only beaten half-a-length at Hamilton on his penultimate start. He's capable of challening off his current mark.

2:20pm Cheltenham - Handicap Chase Tips

Olly Murphy has made a fast start to the season and he's always held CHASING FIRE (12/1) in high regard. Murphy's seven-year-old was three-from-three over hurdles when well-beaten in the 2022 Supreme, and kicked off last season with an impressive chasing victory at Uttoxeter before losing his way over the winter.

Sean Bowen's mount returned to form with a solid runner-up effort at Kelso in March, before following up with an easy win on his three-mile debut at Perth, where he and market rival Geryville pulled miles clear of the pack. All of Chasing Fire's best performances have come on decent ground, so I'm hoping Murphy will have his seven-year-old fully revved up to try and land this £52k pot.

2:55pm Cheltenham - Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle Tips

No bet for me in this one.

3:10pm Newbury - Horris Hill Stakes Tips

Much like the Prospect Stakes at Doncaster earlier on the schedule, I have no interest in backing juveniles at the end of the season, when the ground is as soft as it is. I'll happily leave this one alone.

3:30pm Cheltenham - Masterson Holdings Hurdle Tips

This contest seems like Bottler'secret's to lose. Gavin Cromwell's star ran out an impressive winner of Grade Two and Three contests last term, before pushing Kargese hard when second in the Grade One at Punchestown.

Cromwell's favourite has, however, never run on ground as quick at this before, so I'm going to take a chance on DODGER LONG (4/1), who has shown a real liking for this kind of surface on his last two starts.

Harriet Dickin's youngster cruised to victory in a novice hurdle at Warwick in September before bolting up in the big four-year-old handicap at Chepstow two weeks ago. Dodger Long is the momentum horse in this contest and Harry Cobden, who won on Dickin's four-year-old at Taunton in May, returns to the plate.

3:45pm Newbury - St Simon Stakes Tips

Al Aasy has always handled soft ground well and his record at Newbury is strong. If there were three places available, I'd back Max Vega each-way against the favourite, but as there are only six runners in the field, I'll give this one a miss too.
