ITV Racing Tips - Friday 10th October
1:15pm Newmarket - Cornwallis Stakes Tips
Brussels dominates the market for this Listed contest, following his runner-up finish in the Group One Middle Park Stakes. At the prices, I'd rather chance my arm with SPICY MARG (11/2), who returns to her own age group following a last-place finish in the Nunthorpe.
Michael Bell's filly bolted up on debut on the Rowley Mile in May, before two fairly tame efforts at Royal Ascot and the July Festival. Spicy Marg bounced back to winning ways at Glorious Goodwood, where she took down Friday's second-favourite Revival Power in the Alice Keppel Fillies' Stakes.
Kieran Shoemark's mount beat Revival Power comfortably off level weights that day, and she'll be getting five pounds from that rival on Friday. All of the pace seems to have been drawn low here, but Spicy Marg should be able to work her way over from stall six and get a lovely toe into the contest.
1:30pm York - Autumn Mile Handicap Tips
I'm going to chance my arm with SILVER SWORD (18/1), who ran out an impressive winner on his only previous trip to York during the 2023 Ebor Festival.
Dylan Cunha's five-year-old hasn't been in the best of form since a productive winter in Dubai, with a sixth-place finish his best result in three starts. Joanna Mason's mount could only finish 11th on his most recent outing in the Cambridgeshire, but did go into that Heritage Handicap on the back of a 140-day absence, and should strip fitter for that return to action.
1:50pm Newmarket - Oh So Sharp Stakes Tips
An open renewal of the Oh So Sharp could go the way of BLINGY'S SISTER (6/1). Hugo Palmer's filly won nicely on debut at Chepstow in July, and lost nothing in defeat when second to the front-running and talented Coming Attraction in a conditions race at Chester.
Palmer's raider was shuffled right to the back in the Super Auction Stakes at the Curragh last time out, but finished like a train to place third behind wire-to-wire winner Alparslan. Stepping up in trip seems like a smart move, and Tom Marquand's mount is running well enough to land a blow in this Group Three.
2:05pm York - British EBF £100,000 Final Tips
I don't fancy anything in this one.
2:25pm Newmarket - Challenge Stakes Tips
All five runners in this Group Two have questions to answer, and Clifford Lee may opt for the straightforward approach with POET MASTER (4/1). Karl Burke's five-year-old bounced back to form in France last time out, where he attempted to make all in the Prix du Pin, only to be run down late on by hot-favourite Roshvar.
Poet Master has been largely disappointing on home soil, but did record a convincing course-and-distance victory in a handicap at Newmarket in 2023. This lightly-raced five-year-old has shown flashed of good quality throughout his interrupted career, and Lee has enjoyed plenty of success riding front-runners on the Rowley Mile.

2:40pm York - Each Way Extra Handicap Tips
I'd give a chance to PAROLE D'ORO (7/1) in this three-year-old handicap. Michael Bell's youngster pushed the classy Teroomm hard in a maiden at Thirsk in April, before good efforts in handicaps at Royal Ascot and the July Festival.
The gaps never opened for Parole d'Oro at Glorious Goodwood, and Connor Beasley's mount was caught on the outside of the pack when only fifth as the favourite for a Racing League Handicap last time out. Recent performances offer little encouragement, but Parole d'Oro clearly has some class and could be well-suited by conditions.
A really competitive old boys handicap could go the way of the good-ground-loving LORD ACCORD (6/1), who generally saves his best for the autumn months.
Neil Mulholland's stalwart kicked last season off with a couple of emphatic wins at Sedgefield and Wincanton, before a gallant second behind the rampant Al Dancer in the Badger Beers Trophy. Mulholland opted to run Lord Accord over the summer for the first time this year, and Richie McLernon's mount was last seen finishing second behind well-backed favourite Olivers Travels in the Cavendish Cup at Cartmel.
Lord Accord remains on his last winning chase mark and usually goes well on the back of a break. He's a dangerous addition to the Veteran Chase ranks.
3:30pm Newmarket - Old Rowley Cup Handicap Tips
DANGERMAN (13/2) took a while to warm to racing during the spring, but seems to be coming good during the second half of the campaign.
Given his connections, SPs of 14/1 and 16/1 in spring maidens suggested that Dangerman wasn't going well at home. John & Thady Gosden's gelding went off at 15/2 when winning on his second handicap start at Sandown, before following up with a second emphatic win over the same course-and-distance in August.
William Buick's mount was found out in better company on his most recent start at Sandown, but still ran well to finish third behind the progressive Saddadd. Dangerman wasn't at his best over a mile-and-a-half earlier in the season, but now seems ready for this step back up in trip.
3:43pm Chepstow - Persian War Novices' Hurdle Tips
David Maxwell said, when discussing his upcoming dispersal sale, that Harry Derham told him to wait until after the Persian War, as he'd laid QUEENSBURY BOY (13/8) out for the contest.
Derham's six-year-old is unbeaten in three starts on home soil, having won a bumper here at Chepstow and two novice hurdles under Maxwell last term. Both of Queensbury Boy's defeats have come at Punchestown, where he wasn't beaten far behind the handy Wingmen in a bumper in 2024, before a resounding defeat in the two-and-a-half mile Grade One novice hurdle at this year's Festival.
This six-year-old boasts some strong novice form from last season and has already proven his stamina on a couple of occasions. Queensbury Boy will make a smart staying chaser in time, but at the moment, he's got more than enough class to claim this Grade Two prize.
