As the Arc meeting kicks off at Longchamp, British racing fans have a quality afternoon of racing to look forward to on Saturday. The Sun Chariot Stakes takes place at Newmarket, with Ascot and Redcar also featuring on the ITV schedule.

ITV Racing Tips - Saturday 4th October
1:15pm Ascot - October Stakes Tips
With Ralph Beckett's horses in good form, I'm going to take a chance on FAIR POINT (22/1). Marco Ghiani's mount ran well in a Listed race on the all-weather in July, but has since finished out the back in two competitive Group Threes - despite the ground suiting on both occasions.
This time last year, Fair Point was in excellent form, winning a Premier Fillies' Handicap over a mile here at Ascot, before pushing Sirona close in the Rosemary Stakes at Newmarket. Beckett's filly has finished better than ninth once in five starts since, but the return to Ascot and first-time blinkers could spark a revival.
1:30pm Newmarket - Premier Fillies' Handicap Tips
For all that Morrophore was impressive at Ascot, the favourite has to give a significant amount of weight to a handful of dangerous three-year-olds here. Oliver Cole is represented by PRINCESS RASCAL (15/2), whose two previous outings over ten furlongs offer plenty of encouragement.
Ray Dawson's mount built on a promising debut at Ascot by claiming a comfortable maiden win at Salisbury. Princess Rascal then engaged in a fierce battle with favourite Azaniya on her handicap debut at Windsor, losing out narrowly as the top two pulled ten lengths clear of the field.
Princess Rascal struggled on her most recent outing over a mile-and-a-half at Kempton, where the trip and track didn't suit. Dropping back down to ten furlongs should be ideal, and Dawson's mount remains open to plenty of improvement.
1:50pm Ascot - Rous Stakes Tips
Beautiful Diamond and Shagraan are the ones to beat on form, but I fancy a gamble on GETREADYTORUMBLE (18/1) at a price. Jack Channon's three-year-old has been running consistently well in handicaps all season, and steps up in grade following a taking victory at Doncaster.
George Bass' mount made a winning handicap debut at Goodwood in June, before placing in a trio of strong races. Last time out, Getreadytorumble carried top-weight to victory over several classy elders on testing ground at Doncaster. Conditions should suit on Saturday, and this classy handicapper deserves a crack at a Group prize.
2:05pm Newmarket - October Auction Stakes Tips
COURT ALERT (50/1) went close in a similar race to this on the July Course in August, and Eve Johnson Houghton's youngster should improve for this step up in trip.
Having finished fifth on his first couple of starts, Court Alert kept on gamely to finish second to Sioux Perfect here at Newmarket - and third-placed stablemate Kesta has come out and won well since. Johnson Houghton's colt is a half-brother to top sprinter Believing, but the way he hit the line last time out suggested that Neil Callan's mount is ready to try seven furlongs.

3:00pm Ascot - Bengough Stakes Tips
A wide-open renewal of the Bengough could go the way of QUINAULT (7/1), if Stuart Williams' front-runner is allowed to dictate out in front.
Prolific in 2023 and 2024, Quinault has only managed to win once so far this season, with that victory coming in the Group Three Criterion Stakes at York. Marco Ghiani's has since suffered three convincing defeats, finishing last in the Group One York Stakes, either side of six-length defeats in the Lennox and Park Stakes.
Quinault has always been a Listed, Group Three-quality animal, so he's much better off carrying a penalty in this sort of race than step up in class. Williams' stable star is a former course winner at Ascot, goes in all sorts of ground, and will be difficult to pass if he's on a going day.
3:20pm Redcar - Two Year Old Trophy Tips
A tricky race, but I do think EXCLAMATION (22/1) can challenge if he takes to this new trip.
Grace Harris' juvenile has been in with some good horses this season, running in the Norfolk Stakes and the Flying Childers. Exclamation romped to victory over a modest field at Doncaster in July, and went close behind Lebron Power on his first handicap start at Sandown.
A low draw is often favourable at Redcar, and the front-running Isle Of Fernandez should bring him nicely into the contest. Six furlongs might prove to be a stretch, but Exclamation has the quality to contend.
3:35pm Ascot - Challenge Cup Tips
I usually back high-drawn runners on the straight track at Ascot, but it could be better to be drawn low here, as two of the potential front-runners are drawn in one and three. MIRABEAU (14/1) ran well on his return to seven furlongs here in September, and could be perfectly placed to challenge in stall five.
Dominic Ffrench Davis tested his star at ten furlongs earlier in the season, but Mirabeau struggled in the Blue Ribband Trial, the Dee Stakes and the John Smith's Cup. Cieren Fallon's mount was then only beaten a length-and-a-half behind Native Warrior in the Schweppes Handicap here at Ascot, and caught a tough trip on the rail when sixth at Newbury on his most recent start.
A strongly-run seven furlongs is what Mirabeau wants and his record on genuinely soft ground is impressive.
