Greyville racecourse stages a decent meeting today, with the first race set to go off at 11:50am (UK Time). To help you try and find a few winners, here are Magic Tips' South African Horse Racing tips for today.

Greyville Tips - Wednesday 23rd October

Race 1 - LADY OF VIX (9)

LADY OF VIX produced a promising debut effort over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She showed good speed and stayed on to finish third. It must be noted that Icy Lancaster has come out and won again since. She would have strengthened up during her time off the track. Mathew Thackeray is likely to use her early gate speed to overcome the widest draw and she may be hard to peg back.

Race 2 - MO KING (3)

MO KING’S last start is best ignored as he was reported to be not striding out post-race. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. His best form has been over this C&D and from his good draw of three, he can shed his maiden tag.

Race 4 - PRINCE FLORIAN (5)

PRINCE FLORIAN caught the eye when fifth on debut over 1400m on the turf. He lost two lengths leaving the start, understandably raced green but finished off his race well. The son of What A Winter would have come on from the run and if suited to the polytrack, he can improve to win this.

Race 5 - L’ULTIMO (2)

L’ULTIMO won a good race over 1400m on this course last time. He raced from a handy position and showed guts all the way to the line. He received a three-pound penalty for that victory. The son of The United States meets a similar line-up this afternoon and he can follow up.

Race 6 - MISS PAGET (4)

MISS PAGET had to overcome the widest draw over this C&D last time and stayed on at the finish. She has won twice and finished second once from six starts over this C&D. The daughter of Master Of My Fate has cracked a good draw of four and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

Verdict

Lady Of Vix (Race 1) is Magic Tips' best bet of the day at Greyville on Wednesday.
