Race 1 - NIGHT KING (2)
NIGHT KING is one of the better bets on the card. He has shown good improvement since the fitting of the blinkers. The son of What A Winter has been gelded since his last outing which may have done the trick. Luke Ferraris takes the ride and he should shed his maiden tag.
Race 3 - LOVE LIES (1)
LOVE LIES finished 3 lengths behind ALEX THE GREAT last time. He is 5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He shows good speed in his races and may be tough to peg back.
Race 4 - TIME SPIRIT (7)
TIME SPIRIT produced a promising debut effort over 1600m on this course. He understandably raced green, but the manner in which he finished off his race was encouraging. The son of What A Winter would have gained from the experience and should enjoy the extra furlong on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should take a power of beating.
Race 6 - PUTINS PROMISE (5)
PUTINS PROMISE is much better than his last start over 1200m. He has finished second twice and third twice from six starts over this distance. He is suited to this course and with 1.5kgs claiming apprentice Kyle Strydom in the saddle, he can return to winning ways. He is carded to race on 17 June 2021 and his progress in that race will need to be checked.
Race 7 - OPERA GLASS (9)
OPERA GLASS should have finished closer last time as she was squeezed at the start. However, the manner in which she finished off her race was encouraging. She carries a light mass of 50kgs and with a bit of luck in running, she may be the one to cause the upset.
