Friday's Horse Racing Double Tips (October 9th)

1:50pm Newmarket - Chasing Daylight

CHASING DAYLIGHT looked a very smart prospect when making a winning debut at Yarmouth, powering three lengths clear of her rivals before cruising home under Callum Rodriguez. David Simcock's well-bred daughter of Space Blues settled a competitive maiden in decisive fashion, and there should be plenty more to come. Three of the last six winners of this Group Three arrived on the back of just one career start, so I'm hopeful that Chasing Daylight's inexperience won't count against her.

1:57pm Chepstow - Saint Jeannais

SAINT JEANNAIS looked useful when winning on his bumper debut and created a similar impression when scoring on his first outing over hurdles at Bangor. Nigel and Willy Twiston-Davies' gelding made a slight error at the second-last but still had more than enough left in the tank to stretch seven lengths clear of even-money favourite Mr Mojo Risin on the run to the line. Sam Twiston-Davies' mount has a Dan Skelton runner to contend with today, but Saint Jeannais returns to action with his stable in excellent form, and this two-mile trip is ideal.
