Tuesday's Horse Racing Bet of the Day Tips (August 25th)

3:45pm Musselburgh - Furhaan

The only decent race to be run today is the Portabello Cup up at Musselburgh. Jim Goldie has won this twice in recent years with four-year-olds, and FURHAAN (15/2) looks set to run well under a lowly weight.

A winner over a mile-and-a-half last season, Furhaan has taken his form to a new level since stepping up to two miles. Goldie's gelding stayed on from the rear to place a close fifth on his first start over the distance at Chester, and has since run well from a prominent position in two competitive handicaps at York.

Goldie has three more runners in today's feature, and two of them like to make the running, so Furhaan won't have to do the donkey work on this occasion. Lauren Young's five-pound claim reduces Furhaan's burden to just 8-5, and the rain that's fallen at Musselburgh over the past 24 hours will suit this promising stayer.
