3:51pm Hamilton - Altareq
Eternal Force is strong in the betting, following a decent comeback effort in the Lincoln. I'm going to take the favourite on with ALTAREQ (10/3), after Jim Goldie's recruit ran a screamer on his stable debut at York.
Formerly trained by the Gosdens for Shadwell, Altareq made his debut in last year's Wood Ditton. The Gosdens then upped him to ten furlongs for his final two maiden starts, finishing third at Chelmsford before a neck defeat to the 90-rated Meblesh in May 2025.
A year later, Altareq made his debut for Jim Goldie in a competitive Class 2 at York's Dante Meeting. Warrant Holder rewarded his many backers with a fine performance, but the eye was drawn to Lauren Young's mount, as he powered home from the rear to finish just over a length adrift of the winner in third.
Altareq remains completely unexposed, and looks to have more than enough speed to cope with this drop back to a mile. The ground should be ideal for him too, and Goldie's four-year-old will be getting plenty of weight from his closest rivals in the betting.
4:42pm Wetherby - Madame De Sevigne
Over to Wetherby now, where I fancy MADAME DE SEVIGNE (14/1) will run well at a double-figure price. John Butler's mare hasn't tasted victory since her excellent 2024 campaign, during which she won good handicaps at Leicester and Newmarket off marks of 76 and 79.
Madame De Sevigne endured a winless 2025 campaign, but went close on a number of occasions. Darragh Keenan's mount was only beaten a neck by Boyfriend over a mile at Nottingham last June, and went on to finish second twice on the all-weather during the second half of the season.
On her third start since moving to Butler's yard in February, Madame De Sevigne went close in a Class 4 at Lingfield, losing out to Cool Molly by just a neck. Keenan's mount never got involved from a wide draw at Musselburgh last time out, but Madame De Sevigne has dropped back down to her last winning mark, and first-time cheekpieces today could give her a much-needed boost.

How We Select Our Tips
I've been working in horse racing for over ten years now, but I wouldn't call myself a "punter". Punters like to wager huge sums of money on horses at short prices - that's not my MO at all.
I'm more of a value hunter. I study form and statistics to find horses who have a better chance of winning a race than their odds at that certain time would suggest. Every race is a puzzle to me, and I'm always eager to crack it.
That doesn't mean I always go for outsiders, though. I'll happily back a horse at 6/4 if I think it should be odds-on. I'm very flexible with my betting strategy, and my personal stakes are often fairly small. I follow the "only bet what you can afford to lose" mantra, and live well within my means. There's more fun and less pressure gambling this way. I do it, simply, for the love of the game!
