The son of What A Winter would have gained from the experience and should have no issues with the drop to 1000m. With the natural improvement that is expected, he can go one better.
Race 3 - PARADISE WAY (7)
PARADISE WAY produced a promising debut effort over this distance on the Standside course. She took time to find her feet, but the manner in which she finished off her race was eye-catching. The daughter of Canford Cliffs would have gained from the experience and if not too green around the turn, she may be the one to beat.
Race 5 - TEXAS RED (1)
TEXAS RED is much better than his last start over 1400m on the Standside course. He has won twice and finished third twice from six starts on this course. It is encouraging that Kabelo Matsunyane returns to the saddle and if getting his own way in front, he can return to winning ways.
Race 8 - GOLDEN ASPEN (7)
GOLDEN ASPEN was doing her best work late when third over 1400m at the Vaal last time. She has won twice, finished second twice and third once from nine starts over this C&D. She jumps from a good draw of two and back against her own sex, she can notch up her tenth-career victory.
