Glorious Goodwood reached its midpoint on Wednesday, with the Nassau Stakes headlining another strong card on day three. Before we reach the final Group One of the meeting, ITV viewers have got two further pattern races and the Kincsem Handicap to sink their teeth into.

Here are my best betting tips for Thursday's ITV races.

ITV Racing Tips - Thursday 1st August

1:50pm Goodwood - Kincsem Handicap Tips

Nothing really stands out to me in this wide-open contest, so I'm going to have a small each-way punt on MORTLAKE (20/1), who I hope will appreciate this step up in trip.

Ralph Beckett's three-year-old has run his two best races on fast ground, winning a maiden at Leicester last season, before keeping on well to place third in a hot handicap at Salisbury last time out. Rossa Ryan's mount responded to pressure well on his first start over a mile, and ten furlongs should be well within Mortlake's compass.

2:25pm Goodwood - Richmond Stakes Tips

Plenty enter this Group Two with chances, none more so than The Strikin Viking, who placed a close second in the Railway Stakes at the Curragh on his final start for Kevin Ryan. The favourite has since been purchased by Wathnan Racing and moved to trainer Hamad Al Jehani, whose managed zero winners from 12 runners since pitching up in Newmarket.

Another who brings Group Two form to the table is BILLBOARD STAR (6/1), who finished third in a very good maiden here at Goodwood on debut. Eve Johnson Houghton's colt went into the recent July Stakes on the back of an emphatic maiden win at Newmarket, and ran a strong race to cross the line second behind the impressive winner, Whistlejacket.

Charlie Bishop's mount is a half-brother to Chipotle, who enjoyed a prolific juvenile campaign for Johnson Houghton and owners The Woodway 20 in 2021. The Waco Kid and Black Forza are interesting at longer prices, but Billboard Star already has the form in the book.

3:00pm Goodwood - Gordon Stakes Tips

Jan Brueghel will continue on his path towards the St Leger in Thursday's Gordon Stakes. Aidan O'Brien's unbeaten colt should have no trouble seeing out this distance, and front-runners Bellum Justum and Sayedaty Sedaty should ensure that this small-field contest is run at an honest gallop.

At the prices, I'd rather side with MEYDAAN (9/1), who was last seen finishing a one-paced fourth in the Queen's Vase at Royal Ascot - which was run at a track-record pace. Simon & Ed Crisford's colt had beaten the talented Space Legend in the Cocked Hat Stakes here at Goodwood, so we know he'll handle both the track and the ground. At 9/1, he certainly looks overpriced.
