The Epsom Derby Festival gets off to a flying start on Friday, with the fillies' equivalent of that Classic, the Epsom Oaks headlining the action. Friday's viewers will also enjoy the Group One Coronation Cup, along with a selection of top handicaps and conditions races.

Here are my best betting tips for Friday's ITV Races at Epsom.

ITV Racing Tips - Friday 6th June

1:30pm Epsom - Surrey Stakes Tips

In Friday's opener, I'm going to take a chance on FORMAL (7/1), who should improve for her reappearance at Newbury. Andrew Balding's recruit was backed into 13/2 before the start of the Fred Darling Stakes, but broke slowly, travelled keenly and struggled to find a change of gear on fairly fast spring ground.

Formal put in a lovely performance when winning her maiden for Sir Michael Stoute last September, quickening up nicely on soft ground to score over seven furlongs at Leicester. Her two performances in Group races since then haven't been great, but this drop back down to Listed class should suit and there's plenty of pace to take her into the contest. Soft ground on Friday will certainly be in her favour.

2:05pm Epsom - Woodcote Stakes Tips

Maximised, Havana Hurricane and Norman's Cay come into the Woodcote on the back of debut wins. With the track likely to be soft, I prefer the chances of the more experienced LOGI BEAR (7/1), who'll be having his fourth start on Friday.

Richard Hannon's youngster placed on his first couple of starts over five furlongs, including a runner-up finish to Havana Hurricane at Goodwood. Jamie Spencer's mount then claimed a runaway maiden victory on his six-furlong debut at Newmarket, where the odds-on favourite broke well for the first time and forged three lengths clear in the closing stages.

Logi Bear really relished the step up to six furlongs at Newmarket and his dam won both of her races on soft ground in Ireland, so I'm hopeful that he'll deal with similar conditions on Friday.

3:15pm Epsom - Nifty 50 Handicap Tips

Sheikh Mohammed Obaid's colours have been carried to victory in three of the last seven renewals of the Nifty 50. Ryan Moore will throw on those famous silks when he rides BOTANICAL (5/1) in Friday's renewal and the top-weight looks to have a massive chance.

George Boughey's gelding clocked RPRs in the mid-110s on three occasions last season. Botanical won well at York in May, before narrow defeats in both the John Smith's Cup and the Foundation Stakes at Goodwood.

Boughey's five-year-old has suffered four-length defeats in two classy races so far this term, and neither were run over his preferred distance or ground. Ten furlongs on rain-softened turf should be perfect for Botanical and Moore won't be disappointed with a low draw in stall two.

4:35pm Epsom - Trustatrader Handicap Tips

EBT'S GUARD (13/2) kicked 2025 off with an excellent victory in the Spring Mile at Newbury and has shown enough since to suggest that he's open to further progress.

William Muir & Chris Grassick's gelding was completely unfancied for that Class 2 handicap at Newbury, but travelled into the race smoothly and held on late in the day to snatch a narrow win. Things didn't go to plan in the Victoria Cup thereafter, but Ebt's Guard ran a lovely race on his return to Newbury a week later, keeping on to finish third behind My Cloud and Boyfriend.

Boyfriend has since come out and won to boost that form, and there were several classy operators left trailing behind Ebt's Guard in that high-quality handicap. Lewis Edmund's mount has experience running at this venue and some of his best performances have come on softer going.
