2025 County Hurdle Entries

Following his impressive victory at the Dublin Racing Festival, Emmet Mullins' novice McLaurey was cut into favouritism for the County Hurdle. Sitting second in the market is last year's Boodles winner Lark In The Mornin, who has only run once this term following a busy juvenile campaign.

Willie Mullins and Dan Skelton dominate the recent roll of honour for this handicap. Mullins could be represented this year by Storm Heart, who flew home for third behind McLaurey at Leopardstown, and last year's winner Absurde. Skelton's leading hope looks to be Valgrand, who has suffered three defeats since his victory in the Sharp Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham's October meeting. Be Aware is another potential runner for the Champion Trainer elect.

Willie Mullins could also have the County Hurdle on his mind for recent Punchestown winner Ethical Diamond, and exciting French recruit Kitzbuhel. Stablemates Karniquet, Mystical Power and Kargese also sit prominently in the betting for the first handicap on Gold Cup day at Cheltenham.

Mares' Novices' Hurdle winner Golden Ace, and Dublin Racing Festival scorer Vischio feature in the market. Other possible entrants include Sam Thomas' novice Celtic Dino, Dan Skelton's course winner Country Mile, Gordon Elliott's Bleu De Vassy, and Impose Toi for Nicky Henderson.
