2027 Stayers' Hurdle Key Contenders
Home By The Lee achieved an incredible feat in 2026, finally winning the Stayers' Hurdle on his fifth outing in the contest. Joseph O'Brien's star will be a 12-year-old at next year's Cheltenham Festival, and can be backed at 33/1 to defend his crown.
Ballyburn might have won had Paul Townend not found traffic at a crucial stage. Willie Mullins' former Cheltenham Festival winner heads the early 2027 Stayers' Hurdle betting at 9/1, ahead of Gordon Elliott's former winner Teahupoo - who could only finish sixth this season.
Former Champion Bumper and Albert Bartlett winner, Jasmin De Vaux missed this season through injury, and could be campaigned as a Stayers' Hurdle horse in 2027. Mares' Hurdle winner Wodhooh also features in the betting, along with another Gordon Elliott inmate, Honesty Policy.
