The fourth and final Grade One race on Champions' Day at Cheltenham is the Mares' Hurdle. This two-and-a-half mile contest has been won by many of the sport's finest mares and two ultra-talented fillies head the market for the 2025 renewal, but will either of them turn up in the Mares' Hurdle?

Here's the latest Mares' Hurdle betting and a look at the most likely runners.

2025 Mares' Hurdle Entries

The betting for this year's Mares' Hurdle is topped by Brighterdaysahead. Gordon Elliott's mare has won the Morgiana and Savills Hurdles in stunning fashion this season. Michael O'Leary said that the Mares' Hurdle was still her objective after the Morgiana, but that second Grade One win over two miles at Christmas could convince connections to target the Champion Hurdle instead.

Reigning Mares' Hurdle winner, Lossiemouth also looks set for a tilt at the Champion Hurdle. Willie Mullins' mare beat Teahupoo in the Hatton's Grace on her reappearance, before losing out to the returning Constitution Hill in the Christmas Hurdle at Kempton.

If Lossiemouth does remain on her intended path towards the Champion Hurdle, then Willie Mullins' leading hope in this Grade One could be Kargese, who hasn't been seen since three excellent efforts in Grade One juvenile contests in the spring. Jade De Grugy has also been absent from the end of last term, but she could also carry Kenny Alexander's colours into this Cheltenham Festival contest.

Henry De Bromhead watched July Flower bolt up in the Grade Three Mares' Hurdle at Leopardstown over Christmas. She could be joined in the field by last year's runner-up Telmesomethinggirl, and talented stablemate Birdie Or Bust, who hasn't taken to fences so far this season.

Mares' Novices' Hurdle winner, Golden Ace is the highest-placed home representative in the market. Fergal O'Brien could step the dangerous Dysart Enos up in trip. Other potential runners include Gordon Elliott's Kala Conti, Jetara for Jessica Harrington, and Willie Mullins' Ashroe Diamond.
