2025 Cross Country Chase Entries
Following his sparkling victory at the December Meeting, Gavin Cromwell's Stumptown was slashed into favouritism for the 2025 Cross Country. The favourite could be joined in the field by stablemate Vanillier, who returned to winning ways over the Banks at Punchestown in February.
Two-time defending champion Delta Work could have his third run in the race for Gordon Elliott, who's managed to get his rating dropped down to 157 over the past two years. 2023 runner-up and former National Hunt Chase winner, Galvin is now rated two pounds lower than his stablemate. Coko Beach, Chemical Energy and Conflated could also represent Elliott in this handicap.
The leading British hope could be Mister Coffey, who is still yet to win over fences but has run well on his two starts around the Cross Country course this term. Tom Ellis could be represented by multiple course winner Latenightpass. Iceo Madrik and Hip Hop Conti could be the leading French hopes, after November winner Sweet David was ruled out.
Tommie Beau could return to Cheltenham, having run out at the final bend when leading here in November. Other potential runners on day two of the Cheltenham Festival include experienced chaser Roi Mage, Alexandra Dunn's 12-year-old Deise Aba, Martin Keighley's recruit Escaria Ten, and Joseph O'Brien's duo of Fakir D'Oudairies and Busselton.
