Leopardstown Christmas Festival 2024 Day 2 presents exciting race events with two Grade One competitions. For the 1:10pm Paddy's Rewards Club Chase, Dinoblue (9/2) is a promising contender, while Bleu De Vassy (9/4) leads the Future Champions Novice Hurdle. Leopardstown's Christmas Festival rolls into its second day on Friday, and attendees have another quality card to look forward to.

Two Grade One races headline Friday's action, as well as a couple of red-hot handicaps.I've taken a look through Friday's races on day one of the Leopardstown Christmas Festival and picked out my best betting tips.

Leopardstown Christmas Festival 2024 Day 2 Tips


1:10pm Leopardstown - Paddy's Rewards Club Chase Tips


Despite that victory in the Arkle, I'm not convinced that Gaelic Warrior is at his best going left-handed. Found A Fifty is another who jumps regularly out to his right, so I'm happy to take both on with defending champion DINOBLUE (9/2).

Willie Mullins' mare ran out an easy winner of this Grade One 12 months ago, before bumping into an on-song El Fabiolo at the Dublin Racing Festival. Having been held up too far off Limerick Lace in the Mares' Chase at Cheltenham, Dinoblue gave an excellent account of herself back over two miles at Punchestown, where she was narrowly beaten into third as Banbridge pipped Captain Guinness to the post.

Mark Walsh's mount was a little keen on her reappearance in the Hilly Way, and faded late on as Energumene returned to action with a win. Dinoblue has that run under her belt and she'll be getting seven pounds from the geldings ahead of her in the market.

1:45pm Leopardstown - Future Champions Novice Hurdle Tips


Gordon Elliott and Willie Mullins dominate the roll of honour for this Grade One and they account for the first five in the market. The one I've been most impressed with this term is BLEU DE VASSY (9/4), who leads Romeo Coolio and Karniquet in the betting.

Gordon Elliott's five-year-old bolted up on his hurdling debut at Fairyhouse, scoring by 25 lengths on good ground. Bleu De Vassy travelled supremely well on similar ground at Navan in November, where he cruised to victory in the Grade Three For Auction Novice Hurdle.

Danny Gilligan's mount was withdrawn from the Royal Bond due to the ground, which was strange considering he's now won twice on good going this season. Elliott couldn't win that Grade Two with Romeo Coolio once Bleu De Vassy was pulled. I doubt he'll be making that same mistake again.

3:00pm Leopardstown - Paddy Power Chase Tips


A quality field will contest this handicap chase and I'm keen on the chances of HGRANCA DE THAIX (12/1). Barry Connell's seven-year-old progressed nicely as a novice last term, winning his final two starts over two-and-a-half miles, including a runaway success at the Punchestown Festival.

Sean Flanagan's mount has only been seen once this term, finishing fourth in a 22-furlong handicap hurdle at Galway in October. Hgranca De Thaix hasn't had any entries since. This handicap has clearly been the plan and Connell's seven-year-old is completely unexposed over three miles.
