Leopardstown Tips on December 29th - Four selections on day four

The 2024 Leopardstown's Christmas Festival draws to a conclusion on Sunday and punters have got a competitive card to sift through on day four.
State Man and Brighterdaysahead meet again in the Grade One feature, the Neville Hotels Hurdle. I've taken a look through Sunday's card at the Leopardstown Christmas Festival and picked out my best betting tips.
Leopardstown Christmas Festival 2024 Day 4 Tips
12:45pm Leopardstown - Novices' Handicap Hurdle Tips
Horses towards the bottom end of the weights have a good record in this contest. Liam McKenna's five-pound claim leaves ARTIC LANE (14/1) carrying just 10-9 and Declan Queally's progressive five-year-old should give a good account of himself.
A winning point-to-pointer, Artic Lane went close in several good-quality bumpers during the first half of this year, seeing out two-and-a-half miles well on two occasions. After an early unseat on his hurdling debut, Queally's gelding finished a close third on his second start at Limerick, before beating favourite Relieved Of Duties with a fine battling performance at Thurles.
The mare who beat him at Limerick has since landed a Listed prize, and Relieved Of Duties ran out a 15-length winner on his next start. This opening mark of 116 looks lenient considering the form Artic Lane brings to the table and stepping up beyond two miles should suit.
1:20pm Leopardstown - Mares' Hurdle Tips
The superpowers of Irish racing are well represented in this Grade Three. Liam Kenny won't be a familiar name with most horse racing fans, but he's represented here by WORLD OF FORTUNES (12/1), who I feel has been a little underestimated.
Kenny's mare cruised to victory in a three-mile maiden hurdle on her first start over hurdles in August. World Of Fortunes then took down Willie Mullins' Paggane at the Listowel Festival in September, and was last seen smashing another of Willie's mares to win a Listed race at Limerick.
Jordan Gainford's mount certainly hasn't looked short of speed in either of those two-and-a-half mile races, jumping fluently and hitting the line hard on both occasions. This is a massive step up in class, but I like what I've seen from World Of Fortunes. She represents each-way value.
1:55pm Leopardstown - Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Chase Tips
Rated in the 90s on the flat for Johnny Murtagh, SHAJAK (11/1) won just once over hurdles for Gordon Elliott last term. Since switching to fences in the autumn, Elliott's five-year-old hasn't managed to claim a victory, but he has gone close on four of his five starts.
Gordon Elliott has booked in-form apprentice James Smith to take the ride. Smith has struck with three of his last six rides, including a handicap hurdle success on one of his rivals St Denis's Well at Down Royal on Boxing Day. Elliott must have moved quickly to break up that partnership and Shajak should love both the track and conditions on Sunday.
