Stake.com horse racing home page

Leading bookmakers Stake.com have launched their new horse racing betting service, where users can bet on domestic and worldwide racing, with Live Streaming also available.

Stake.com is one of the world's fastest-growing online betting brands. Its modern sportsbook, top-of-the-range online casino and cryptocurrency betting options have helped Stake garner a huge following. New customers can get their hands on an excellent welcome bonus too, depending on what country they're signing up from.

One of the few things missing from Stake.com's arsenal was a top class horse racing betting service.

Back in January, we announced that Stake had formed a partnership with Racing And Sports, one of the leading racing odds and software providers in the industry, to take their racing coverage to the next level. After a few more weeks of waiting, that brand-new racing product is now live!

Win, Place and Each Way bets are available now, with more features to be released shortly including exotic bets, live streaming, greyhounds and a whole lot more!

Horse Racing Betting at Stake.com

Stake.com now offers a wide range of daily horse racing markets for customers to access. Users can bet on action taking place in horse racing-mad countries like the USA and Canada, Ireland, Australia, South Africa, Japan and the Middle East.

The UK is another country where horse racing is big business. Famous racing events like the Cheltenham Festival, Royal Ascot, the Grand National and the Epsom Derby are staged in the UK. While it's not currently available to customers in the US, UK racing markets will soon be added to this service.

Stake's new horse racing home page features a number of useful sections. "Next To Jump" lets bettors know quickly when the next race will be going off, whatever country the race is being staged in. Clicking on the title of that race will open all available markets.

Under the "All Races" heading, every horse racing card being staged that day is available. Again, clicking on the title of any race will allow you to place a bet on that contest. Races being staged over the coming days can also be accessed in this section, as can all of the results from the previous three days.

Best Betting Odds & Types of Bets

If you’re keen to get stuck into Stake's new horse racing betting service, it’s important to understand the types of horse racing bets that can be placed. Here's our quick summary...

  • Singles - A straight-up bet type on a single horse to win an upcoming race.
  • Quinella - A straight forecast bet on the finishing order of the first and second horses in a race.
  • Trifecta - A straight forecast bet on the finishing order of the first, second, and third horses in a race. For bigger races, you may even be able to place Superfecta bets, predicting the first four horses in a race. Singles, Quinellas and Trifectas only cover the outcome of a single race.
  • Doubles - A split type of bet on two horses to win two different horse races. Both must win for a double to pay out. An each-way double can also be placed. Both horses must finish in the designated places for this bet to pay out.
  • Trebles - Bet on three horses to win three different horse races. All must win for a treble to pay out.
  • Accumulator (or Acca) – A bet on four or more horses to win their respective races. All picks must win for an accumulator to pay out.
  • Trixie - This bet covers picks on three horses spread across four bets – three doubles and one treble. At least two out of the three horses must win to ensure a return.
  • Yankee - Covers picks on four horses, spread over 11 bets – six doubles, four trebles and one four-fold. Again, at least two out of the four selections must win to ensure a return.
  • Lucky 15 - Similar to a Yankee, but this bet also covers the four single bets, along with the 11 multiple combinations.
  • Heinz - A mammoth 57-bet combination, covering six horses in separate races. It combines all permutations involving your six picks into a single wager.
  • Super Heinz - Even bigger than a Heinz, spanning 120 bets across seven selections and races – one seven-fold, seven six-folds, 21 five-folds, 35 four-folds, 35 trebles and 21 doubles.

Global Horse Racing Events

Horse racing takes place on pretty much every day of the calendar year, with the world's most famous events spread out throughout the season.

In the USA, there are three Triple Crown races. The Kentucky Derby, held at Churchill Downs in May, with the Preakness Stakes at Pimlico taking place a few weeks later. The third leg of the Triple Crown is the Belmont Stakes, which is held at Belmont Park during the summer.

The final big meeting of the US season is the Breeders' Cup. Horses from all over the world will travel to the US at the beginning of November to take part in two stunning days of racing.

UK flat racing follows a similar pattern to the US. Classic races like the 2000 Guineas and the Epsom Derby are run during the early weeks of the season. Royal Ascot and Glorious Goodwood headline the summer racing schedule, before Champions Day at Ascot rounds off the flat campaign. During the autumn, winter and spring, jumps racing takes place in the UK, with the Cheltenham Festival and the Grand National taking place during March and April.

Horse racing is the biggest sport in Ireland, with flat and jumps racing taking place on an almost daily basis. Ireland stages their equivalents of the Guineas, the Derby, and the Grand National, as well as important Festivals at the Curragh, Leopardstown, Punchestown and Fairyhouse at various points of the year.

The biggest race to be staged in Australia is the Melbourne Cup, the richest handicap race in the world. South Africa's flagship race in the lucrative Durban July Handicap. Japan and Hong Kong also host hugely important horse races during their flat season, and many of the world's most prestigious races will take place at Meydan racecourse during the Dubai World Cup Carnival.

Live Streaming

Once you've placed your horse racing bets, you'll have to watch the race to see whether your chosen horse comes out on top. In many cases, you can live stream the biggest horse races with a Stake.com account. Just make sure you’re logged in and have a reliable Wi-Fi or data connection to ensure a high-quality race broadcast.

Live, in-play betting on consecutive races is not usually available with sportsbooks like Stake.com. That’s why it’s always best to ensure you get the best value horse racing odds for your picks pre-off.

Betting Odds & Payouts

At the Stake.com sportsbook, the odds in horse racing are presented in one of three formats. Each displays the probability of a horse winning a race, coupled with the potential winnings you can expect from a winning bet on a horse racing event. Here's our breakdown of the types of odds available.

  • Fractional Odds - Represents the potential profit relative to your stake. Odds of 6/1 mean that for every $1 wagered, you’ll stand to win $6, plus a refund of your initial stake.
  • American Odds - Expressed as positive (+) or negative (-) figures. Positive odds indicate the potential profit on a $100 wager. E.g. +300 odds mean a winning $100 wager would return $300 in profit. Negative odds denote how much you’ve got to wager to win $100. E.g. -200 odds suggest you must stake $200 to win $100.
  • Decimal Odds - This represents the potential return on investment, including your original stake. E.g. odds of 6.0 imply a $1 bet would return $6 in total, inclusive of your wager.
