USA Horse Racing
The most important festival in all of USA horse racing is the Breeders' Cup. Held over two days at the start of November, the world's finest flat racers will travel to America, hoping to win some of the most lucrative prizes in the entire sport.
The Breeders' Cup Classic, Breeders' Cup Turf and the Breeders' Cup Mile are the three most important races during the week. There are also a handfull of Group One races staged for juveniles, along with high-profile sprint races run on both ruf and dirt.
The US Triple Crown is one of the world's most impressive sporting achievements. The Triple Crown is given to any three-year-old that's good enough to win the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness Stakes and the Belmont Stakes in the same season.
Winners of the US Triple Crown include War Admiral, Affirmed, American Pharoah and Secretariat, who was considered "The people's horse" during its time. In 2018, Justify became just the 13 horse in the history of US Racing to win the Triple Crown.
The Pegasus World Cup was first run in 2017 with the expectation of attracting the big-money players to the American market. Whilst it has been successful on some terms, it hasn't quite lived up to the original hype.
That being said, there's still $16 million on offer across two races on the featured meeting and that doesn't include any of the undercard races, which includes the likes of the Gulfstream Park Sprint and W.L McKnight Handicap.
