Following a three-year total rebuild, Belmont Park will reopen its gates to the public this weekend. Friday's celebratory card is headlined by the Jockey Club Gold Cup Stakes, a historic ten-furlong Group One race which features in the "Win And You're In" series for the Breeders' Cup Classic.

The odds-on favourite to land Friday's feature is Japanese superstar Forever Young. Yoshito Yahagi's star landed the Breeders' Cup Classic on his most recent run on US soil and returns to action for the first time since that narrow defeat to Magnitude in the Dubai World Cup.

Leading the charge against the favourite is Phileas Fogg, who steps up to Group One company following a ten-length romp in the Suburban Stakes. Bill Mott's Baeza was also beaten by Magnitude in the Stephen Foster Stakes and has nine lengths to find with Forever Young from their clash in last year's Breeders' Cup Classic.

Ethan West will be represented by Chunk Of Gold following two narrow defeats so far this season. David Jacobson's Banishing won the Godolphin Mile at Meydan in March and proved his versatility with a Listed win over a sprint trip in July.

Bill Mott's second string Stars And Stripes drops back in trip after landing the 14-furlong Birdstone Stakes. Ken McPeek's four-year-old Render Judgement is the seventh and final entrant.
