2024 Breeders' Cup Tips & Betting Predictions

The Breeders' Cup is America's most famous horse racing meeting. Over the four days, no fewer than 13 fantastic Group One races will be handed out, including the Breeders' Cup Turf, Breeders' Cup Mile and the Breeders' Cup Classic.

Many of Europe's top trainers, including Aidan O'Brien, John Gosden, Charlie Appleby and Sir Michael Stoute, target the Breeders' Cup with their best horses. US-trainers like Bob Baffert and Brad Cox will make sure the raiders don't have everything their own way.

Each year, the Breeders' Cup is staged at different venues around the USA. Churchill Downs, Santa Anita and Belmont Park have all staged the Breeders' Cup. The 2022 Breeders' Cup will be staged at
Keeneland racecourse in Kentucky.

Breeders' Cup Dates

2022 Breeders' Cup Turf Preview

Topping the Breeders' Cup Turf odds we find Sir Michael Stoute' Bay Bridge, who took advantage of an under-par performance from Baaeed to win the Champion Stakes at Ascot. Following that victory, Stoute said a trip to the Breeders' Cup was possible and bet365 was quick to install Bay Bridge as their 3/1 favourite.

Charlie Appleby's record in North American turf contests has been incredible over the last two years. Appleby and Godolphin could be represented by last year's winner Yibir, former Epsom Derby winner Adayar, two-time German Group One winner Rebel's Romance, and Saratoga Derby winner Nations Pride.

John Gosden's multiple Group One winner, Mishriff sits prominently in the market. Tuesday and Broome could fly the flag for Aidan O'Brien. Botanik could represent leading French trainer, Andre Fabre.

The highest-placed American entrant in the Breeders' Cup betting is Billy Mott's mare War Like Goddess, who booked her spot at Keeneland by thrashing Bye Bye Melvin, Adhamo, Rockemperor and Gufo in the Joe Hirsch Turf Classic.

Other possible home runners include Chad Brown's Tribhuvan, Classic Causeway for Ken McPeek, and Graham Motion's Highland Chief, who won a handicap at Royal Ascot during his time with Paul and Oliver Cole.

2022 Breeders' Cup Classic Preview

Following his demolition job in the Pacific Classic, John Sadler's Flightline was awarded an astronomical Beyer Speed Figure of 126. That mark puts Flightline in the same league as legends like American Pharoah, Cigar and Secretariat, so it's no surprise to see Unibet quoting odds of 4/7 on Sadler's new stable star.

Jim Dandy and Travers Stakes winner, Epicenter sits closest to Flightline in the Breeders' Cup Classic market. Last year's Dirt Mile winner, Life Is Good warmed up for his return to the Breeders' Cup with an easy win in the Woodward Stakes. Runaway Pennsylvania Derby winner, Taiba also sits prominently in the Classic market.

Billy Mott's duo of Olympiad and Art Collector can be backed at 12/1. Bob Baffert's Country Grammer,  Doug O'Neill's Hot Rod Charlie and Todd Pletcher's Charge It sit around the 20/1 mark.

Other likely Breeders' Cup runners include Kentucky Derby placer Zandon, the front-running Classic Causeway, Haskell Stakes hero Cyberknife and shock Saudi Cup winner, Emblem Road.
