Dubai World Cup Night Lead-Up Races

Horses who impress in important lead-up races like the Meydan Sprint often run in the Al Quoz Sprint, while Group Twos like the Dubawi Stakes and the Nad Al Sheba serve as key trials for the Golden Shaheen.

The Jebel Hatta is the most important trial for the Dubai Turf, while the Dubai City Of Gold Stakes often provides runners with an important stepping stone towards the Sheema Classic.

The Dubai World Cup is such a global event, there are no set lead-up races. There are, however, some races which should be focused on by bettors.

Due to the success of the American runners, races such as the Kentucky Derby, Belmont Stakes and Preakness Stakes should be considered as good form guides.

For the local runners, the Al Maktoum Challenge has produced winners in the past. It's a great lead-up because it's run over the same distance and it will be worth following the results out of all three rounds this year.

Prince Bishop won Round 3 of the Al Maktoum Challenge in 2014 before winning the Dubai World Cup a year later. Electrocutionist also had success in the Challenge before winning in 2006.
