In the 2026 Nassau Stakes at Glorious Goodwood, Diamond Necklace reinforced her dominance by cruising to her fourth straight Group One victory, remaining unbeaten on her British debut. Trained by Aidan O'Brien, the filly outclassed a strong field to win decisively, with Friendly Soul securing second and See The Fire finishing third. Moments Of Joy set a strong early pace for her stablemate before fading. O’Brien’s filly has now established herself as the top three-year-old, while the trainer celebrated his fifth consecutive victory in this prestigious race.

Just five fillies and mares line up in the 2026 renewal of the Nassau Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.

The betting was dominated by Diamond Necklace, who was bidding to maintain her unbeaten record on her British debut. Aidan O'Brien's filly has done most of her racing in France, and the bookmakers cut Diamond Necklace into 4/7 before her attempt at a fourth Group One win in a row.

William Buick and the Gosdens teamed up with former Group One winner Friendly Soul, who finished third behind the excellent Blue Bolt at Royal Ascot. See The Fire ran in the Nassau for the third year in a row, having finished a close second in 2024 and third 12 months ago.

Roger Varian threw Hoppings Fillies' Stakes winner Botagoz into Group One company for the first time. Aidan O'Brien's pacemaker, Moments Of Joy, was the rank outsider of the quintet.

As expected, Moments Of Joy went straight to the front under Wayne Lordan. Friendly Soul was kept wide from her draw for a while, before eventually slotting into second place ahead of Diamond Necklace. See The Fire was ridden with restraint by Oisin Murphy, and was joined by Botagoz at the rear of the field.

Climbing the hill, Wayne Lordan kept the revs up on Moments Of Joy. Ryan Moore dropped four lengths off Friendly Soul's tail, recognising that William Buick's mount was a little keen on her first start for a while over ten furlongs.

Buick asked his mount to pick up the pacemaker entering the home straight, and Friendly Soul soon took command of the contest. Yet Ryan Moore was still sitting quietly in Diamond Necklace's saddle, and the favourite quickly pulled alongside her market rival.

In the space of 100 yards, Diamond Necklace quickened into a commanding lead and the race was over. O'Brien celebrated his seventh victory in the Nassau as Diamond Necklace sauntered over the line, establishing herself as the top three-year-old filly in the sport.

Friendly Soul kept on well to finish a clear second. See The Fire placed third again, without ever really featuring in the contest. Botagoz picked up some valuable fourth-place prize money, with Moments Of Joy trailing home last, having set the race up perfectly for her stablemate.
