Galway Festival Day 7 Tips - Best Bets & Predictions on Sunday
The Galway Festival 2026 comes to an exciting close on Sunday, offering fans a mixed card of flat and jumps racing. Key tips include Wahraan in the Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Hurdle after a strong midweek showing, Coming Up Easy in the Lord Hemphill Memorial Handicap Chase benefiting from ideal ground, and Gleneagle Bay for the Ahonoora Handicap, who looks primed after a solid performance earlier in the week. These horses come well-recommended based on recent form, course experience, and advantageous race conditions.

Galway Festival Day 7 Tips - Sunday 2nd August
1:50pm Galway - Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Hurdle Tips
Timurshah goes for his second handicap hurdle win of the week, and two-time winner Teed Up will surely go well under Alan O'Sullivan. I prefer the chances of WAHRAAN (4/1), following his excellent effort on the Flat on day three.
Jessica Bedi's eight-year-old was sent off at 28/1 on Wednesday, having largely struggled in British Flat handicaps this season. Wahraan was dropped out at the back, but came up the hill like a train and got within a neck of Cock And Bull, who held on to score for Emmet Mullins.
Wahraan opened his account over hurdles in a maiden at Market Rasen at the end of May, running up to an RPR of 108. Bedi's eight-year-old has been handed an identical official mark for his handicap debut on Sunday, and Wahraan's course form has to give him a big chance.
3:30pm Galway - Lord Hemphill Memorial Handicap Chase Tips
Henry de Bromhead has won this handicap chase on three occasions, and COMING UP EASY (13/2) should be a big player with just 11-2 to carry.
De Bromhead's eight-year-old won his first three starts in handicap chases last season, scoring at Limerick and Cork in the spring, before an impressive Listed victory at Killarney's August Festival. Coming Up Easy was then sent off at 13/2 for the Paddy Power Handicap Chase at Cheltenham in November, but was pulled up after several early mistakes, and didn't fare much better when last seen in the Topham Chase at Aintree.
Daragh O'Keeffe's mount has been dropped a couple of pounds in the handicap for those two high-profile British flops. De Bromhead's eight-year-old is much more effective on spring/summer ground, and his record when fresh offers further encouragement.
4:00pm Galway - Ahonoora Handicap Tips
My final selection of the Galway Festival comes in this top-quality Flat handicap. GLENEAGLE BAY (10/1) finished second in this race 12 months ago, and Stephen Thorne has booked the in-form Dylan Browne McMonagle to take the ride this time around.
An easy winner at Cork in June, Gleneagle Bay finished sixth behind Orandi in the BMW Mile Handicap here at Galway on Tuesday. Thorne's six-year-old travelled beautifully throughout, but had to be snatched up as he attempted to make inroads around the bend, and hit traffic consistently in the final furlong and a half.
Horses who have already run during the week have an excellent record in this valuable handicap. Gleneagle Bay remains on the same mark of 96, and dropping back to seven furlongs will certainly suit McMonagle's mount.
