The first of two handicaps on Gold Cup day at Cheltenham is the County Hurdle. This two-mile cavalry charge always provides fantastic entertainment and we look set for another cracking renewal at this year's Festival.

2024 County Hurdle Entries

Iberico Lord has scored in the Greatwood and the Betfair Hurdle already this season. Nicky Henderson's star is currently favourite for the County Hurdle, where he could be joined in the field by stablemates Impose Toi, Under Control and First Street.

Willie Mullins and Dan Skelton have shared the last six renewals of the County Hurdle between them. Betfair Hurdle runner-up, L'Eau Du Sud and defending champion, Faivoir could fly the flag for Skelton. Mullins, meanwhile, accounts for eight entries, including Absurde, Zenta, Lisnagar Fortune and Bialystock.

Gordon Elliott holds 11 entries, including second-favourite King Of Kingsfield. Last year's runner-up, Pied Piper could represent Elliott on day four of the Cheltenham Festival again, along with stablemates Jigoro, and Magic Tricks.

Brucio, Colonel Mustard, Magical Zoe and Quai De Bourbon could fly the flag for Ireland. Other home challengers include Ben Pauling's Bad, Sam Thomas' Lump Sum, Panjari for Paul Nicholls, Olly Murphy's Go Dante, and Gary Moore's pair of Hansard and Spirit D'Aunou.
