2024 Gold Cup Entries - 20 in contention for Cheltenham Festival showpiece
Key players in the horseracing field have been named as the latest entries for the 2024 Cheltenham Gold Cup. Defending champion, Galopin Des Champs, Fastorslow, Gerri Colombe, Hewick, Gentlemansgame, and Shishkin are among the top highlights of the event, set to spark intense competition and excitement.

The latest entries for the Cheltenham Gold Cup were announced at the start pf January, and 20 top chasers have been entered for the showpiece event at the 2024 Cheltenham Festival.

Galopin Des Champs will, all being well, return to Prestbury Park to defend his Gold Cup crown in March. Willie Mullins' star tops the ratings too, having returned to a mark of 180 following his runaway triumph in the Savills Chase at Leopardstown.
Fastorslow beat Galopin Des Champs in both the Punchestown Gold Cup and the John Durkan, and he's been handed a Gold Cup entry by Martin Brassil. Gordon Elliott could still be represented by Gerri Colombe, despite his 23-length defeat to Galopin Des Champs at Leopardstown.
Shark Hanlon's King George VI Chase winner, Hewick and Mouse Morris' Gentlemansgame could both run in the feature at the Cheltenham Festival. Henry De Bromhead has entered Envoi Allen and Jungle Boogie. Conflated and Monkfish could also represent Irish connections.
Multiple Grade One winner, Shishkin is the highest-rated of the home Gold Cup contenders. Last year's runner-up, Bravemansgame could represent Paul Nicholls, who's also handed an entry to top novice chaser, Stay Away Fay.
Betfair Chase hero, Royale Pagaille and former Cheltenham Festival winner, L'Homme Presse have been entered by Venetia Williams. Lucinda Russell could also be doubly represented, having entered Grand National winner, Corach Rambler and the enigmatic Ahoy Senor.
Dan Skelton looks set to run Protektorat in his third Cheltenham Gold Cup. Coral Gold Cup winner Datsalrightgino, runaway Welsh Grand National hero Nassalam, and reigining Brown Advisory winner, The Real Whacker round off the entries.
