The opening day of the Cheltenham Festival is headlined by the Champion Hurdle. Constitution Hill produced another stunning performance to win this race 12 months ago and Nicky Henderson's star will carry a short price into Tuesday's main event.

Here's the latest Champion Hurdle betting and a look at the most likely runners.

2024 Champion Hurdle Entries

Constitution Hill has only been seen once so far this season, maintaining his 100% record in the Christmas Hurdle at Kempton. Henderson's star missed his intended pre-run in the International Hurdle following a poor scope, but can still be backed at a best price of 1/3 for the Champion Hurdle.

State Man continued his dominance on home soil with another easy victory in the Irish Champion Hurdle. Willie Mullins' eight-time Grade One winner was no match for Constitution Hill when they met in last season's Champion Hurdle, but the bookies make State Man a general 11/4 shot to reverse those placings in March.

Bob Olinger was cut into 12/1 for the Champion Hurdle on the back of a solid runner-up finish at the Dublin Racing Festival. Impaire Et Passe drifted out to 16s after a third-place finish at Leopardstown, and could now step up to three miles and enter the Stayers' Hurdle.

Lossiemouth was slashed for the Champion Hurdle following her superb comeback victory in the International Hurdle, but still looks more likely to enter the Mares' Hurdle, for which she's the odds-on favourite. Willie Mullins has also handed entries to Vauban, Echoes In Rain, Zarak The Brave and Gala Marceau.

Gordon Elliott could be represented again by Zanahiyr and Pied Piper. Nicky Henderson has entered up Luccia, with Not So Sleepy likely to make a fifth appearance in the feature race on day one of the Cheltenham Festival.

Other possible Champion Hurdle runners include Guard Your Dreams, Nemean Lion, Fils d'Oudairies, Colonel Mustard and Under Control.
