Like the other three novice chases at the Cheltenham Festival, the bulk of the 37 National Hunt Chase entries is provided by Willie Mullins. Topping the betting is Mullins' star Gaillard Du Mesnil, who could drop back down into Grade Two company despite that victory in the Neville Hotels at Leopardstown over Christmas.
Mullins has entered 12 runners in total, including Kilcruit, Bronn, Tenzing, I Am Maximus and Ramillies - who runs in the same colours at Gaillard Du Mesnil. Gordon Elliott is also well represented, with second-favourite Chemical Energy likely to be joined by either Gerri Colombe, Minella Crooner or Frontal Assault.
Jonathan Sweeney has entered up Churchstonewarrior, with Stuart Crawford looking likely to run unbeaten chaser Gold Cup Bailly. Amirite, Mahler Mission and Walking On Glass could also represent Irish connections on day one of the Cheltenham Festival.
Dan Skelton's Hidden Heroics is the only British runner currently quoted at odds shorter than 20/1. Skelton's Cheltenham winner could be joined in the field by fellow British runners Tea For Free, Mister Coffey, City Chief and Blackjack Magic. Jon Snow could also represent George Baker, having recently made the move from Willie Mullins' yard.
