64 rising stars have been entered in the 2026 Supreme Novices' Hurdle, the opening race of the Cheltenham Festival.
Five of the last seven renewals of the Supreme have gone the way of Irish raiders, and almost 65% of the entrants for this year's renewal come from Ireland. Gordon Elliott's El Cairos sits prominently in the betting, alongside Talk The Talk for Joseph O'Brien. Willie Mullins, meanwhile, is responsible for 16 entries, including recent winners Mighty Park and Sober, and Dublin Racing Festival entrants King Rasko Grey, The Reverend, Davy Crockett and Le Divin Enfant.
Nicky Henderson has saddled the Supreme winner three times in the past decade, and saw Old Park Star jump to the head of the betting for this Grade One over the weekend. The first two from the Formby at Aintree, Idaho Sun and Mydaddypaddy have been entered, along with Harry Derham's Mossy Fen Road, Alan King's Baron Noir, and Taurus Bay for Ben Pauling.
Proactif, Macho Man and Minella Yoga are entered in the Supreme and the Triumph Hurdle. Gordon Elliott's pair of Ballyfad and Skylight Hustle are two of several entrants who're also entered in the Turners. Other notable names in the Supreme mix include Nicky Henderson's Fire Warning, Windbeneathmywings for David Pipe, Sober Glory for Hobbs and White, Noel Meade's flat recruit Blake, and Eachtotheirown for Barry Connell.
