We've got an unusually small field of 11 for the Mares' Novices' Hurdle, and the top three in the betting look a little way clear of their rivals.
Brighterdaysahead has been heavily backed in the build-up and Gordon Elliott's mare is clearly a fantastic prospect. She looks like a chaser and she's certainly bred to be at her best over fences. She could be in trouble if this race, as it usually does, turns into a sprint.
I'd love to see Fergal O'Brien enter the winner's enclosure and Dysart Enos has the potential to be a top-notcher. However, so does JADE DE GRUGY (9/4), and I'd prefer to put my faith in Willie Mullins and Paul Townend.
I was blown away by Jade De Grugy's maiden hurdle victory at Leopardstown over Christmas and Townend's mount looked even better on her prep-run in the Solerina. The second-favourite is already proven on heavy ground and her proven stamina will come in handy on the uphill run to the line at Cheltenham.
