Following on from the Stayers' Hurdle on day three at Cheltenham is the Plate Handicap Chase. This two-and-a-half mile contest always gets the St Patrick's Day crowd on their feet in this year's renewal is looking as open as ever.

2024 Plate Handicap Chase Entries

Jonjo O'Neill's Crebilly has been backed into favouritism for the Plate, having finally broken his duck over fences at Exeter last time out. Gavin Cromwell's Letsbeclearaboutit and Richard Bandey's Theatre Man also sit prominently in the market, despite still holding novice status.

Sophie Leech has handed an entry to Dublin Racing Festival winner Madara, who looks more likely to run in the Grand Annual. Willie Mullins could be represented by Listed winner Classic Getaway, with Firm Footings, Saint Felicien and Cool Survivor likely to represent Gordon Elliott.

Ga Law could run in this handicap or enter the Ryanair Chase on day three of the Cheltenham Festival. Nicky Henderson could unleash five-year-old Excello. Il Ridoto, Lounge Lizard and Pembroke could also represent home connections.

John McConnell's Seddon could return to defend his crown. Other possible runners include James Du Berlais, Meetingofthewaters, Shakem Up'Arry, Chavez and Demnat.
