Cheltenham Day 2 Entries - Energumene to face six in Champion Chase defence

On Monday morning, the final fields were confirmed for all seven races on Champion Chase day at the Cheltenham Festival. Here are Wednesday's headline entries.

Energumene will face six challengers as he attempts to defend his Champion Chase crown. Willie Mullins' star will renew rivalries with Editeur Du Gite and Edwardstone, who finished ahead of Energumene in the 2023 Clarence House Chase.
Last year's runner-up, Funambule Sivola will run for Venetia Williams. Greaneteen represents Paul Nicholls. Nube Negra and Captain Guinness complete the Champion Chase field.

Impaire Et Passe has risen to the head of the betting for this year's renewal the Ballymore and Paul Townend was confirmed in the saddle of the favourite on Monday. Danny Mullins will ride Grade One winner Champ Kiely, with Patrick Mullins expected to ride Gaelic Warrior.
Harry Cobden and Paul Nicholls team up with Hermes Allen, with Michael O'Sullivan riding Good Land for Barry Connell. A fourth Willie Mullins' runner, Ho My Lord was confirmed, along with American Mike, Marble Sands, Persian Time and Master Chewy.

Gerri Colombe tops the Brown Advisory betting and Jordan Gainford's mount will face eight rivals in Wednesday's second Grade One. Willie Mullins confirmed three runners in the field, with Sir Gerhard set to be joined by Ramilies and Bronn.
The Real Whacker remains in novice company instead of taking up his Gold Cup entry. Michael Nolan will ride Thyme Hill for Philip Hobbs, with Harry Skelton booked to partner Galia Des Liteux. Henry de Bromhead's Amirite completes the field.
Other Cheltenham Day 2 Entries
Delta Work and Galvin headlined the entries for the Cross Country Chase. Willie Mullins' Franco De Port also features in a 16-strong field, along with course winners Back On The Lash, Diesel D'Allier, Gin On Lime and Easysland.
Willie Mullins will saddle 10 of the 24 runners confirmed for the Champion Bumper. Ireland's top trainer will run It's For Me, Fact To File, Fun Fun Fun, Chapeau De Soleil and Western Diego. Jamie Codd rides Better Days Ahead for Gordon Elliott. Queens Gamble, Captain Teague and Favour And Fortune will represent home connections.
Ante-post favourite Camprond made it into the final field for the Coral Cup. Fancied Irish runners Run For Oscar, HMS Seahorse and Beacon Edge took up their entries, along with former Martin Pipe runner-up, Langer Dan and Sam Thomas' Good Risk At All.
JP McManus confirmed both Dinoblue and Andy Dufresne in the Grand Annual. Final Orders, Coeur Sublime and Dads Lad will fly the flag for Ireland in the final handicap on day two of the Cheltenham Festival. Third Time Lucki, Before Midnight, Elixir De Nutz and Thyme White also featured in the final field.
