2024 Irish Champion Stakes Entries

The firm-favourite to land this year's Irish Champion Stakes is William Haggas' Economics. A runaway winner of the Dante earlier in the season, Haggas' three-year-old put up another world-class performance at Deauville last month and Economics will head to Leopardstown before a tilt at the British Champion Stakes at Ascot.

Defending champion, Auguste Rodin will appear at Leopardstown on the back of a below-par performance in the King George at Ascot. Los Angeles will join stablemate Auguste Rodin in the field before a tilt at the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. Opera Singer, Luxembourg, Diego Velazquez and Continuous are also possible runners for Ballydoyle.

Coral-Eclipse and Juddmonte International Stakes third, Ghostwriter will be glad to see the back of City Of Troy when he makes the trip to Leopardstown. Clive Cox's star could be joined on the boat over from England by Owen Burrows' pair of Anmaat and Alflaila, Epsom Derby runner-up Ambiente Friendly, and Almaqam for Ed Walker.

Like Los Angeles, Joseph O'Brien's Al Riffa and Japanese raider Shin Emperor will use the Irish Champion Stakes as a stepping stone towards the Arc. Metropolitan, Zarakem and Facteur Cheval could fly the flag for France on the opening day of Irish Champions Weekend. Haatem, Dancing Gemini, Limiere Rock and Royal Rhyme also feature in the entries.
