2026 Fillies' Mile Result and Replay - Musical Times survives a scare to land the odds at Newmarket

Rogue Passion was the slowest out of the blocks as the three Irish fillies went forward. Exceptionally cut out the early running, with Dancing Destiny and Haven keeping her company.

William Buick positioned Musical Times on the rail in fourth. Scommessa Sicora travelled alongside the favourite. Lex Victoria and Rogue Passion sat just behind them, with Forbidden Fire positioned at the rear.

At the halfway stage, it was clear that Musical Times had a fight on her hands. Buick had a wall of Irish fillies ahead of her, and the fading Exceptionally fell into her lap going into the dip.

Buick dodged and weaved, angling off the rail to take aim at Haven. Aidan O'Brien's filly opened up a two-length lead as she hit the rising ground, but Musical Times had found open air.

In the space of 200 yards, Charlie Appleby's filly bridged the gap and edged into a narrow lead. Buick gave her another little clip, and the favourite moved a length clear of Haven. Odds-on backers rejoiced as Musical Times crossed the line.

Haven kept on gamely to finish second, earning Aidan O'Brien some much-needed prize money. Forbidden Fire powered home from the rear to get herself involved in the skirmish for third, with Oisin Murphy's mount grabbing the bronze medal on the bob from Lex Victoria, who ran a mighty race on her first start outside of novice company.

After the Fillies' Mile, bet365 cut Musical Times into 5/2 for the 2027 1000 Guineas from 4/1 before the race. Aidan O'Brien's top filly Sun Goddess heads that Classic betting, and she's due to run at the Breeders' Cup in Keeneland at the end of the month.
