17 top sprinters entered the stalls ahead of today's Nunthorpe Stakes, and the bookies were taking no chances, offering 5/1 the field.

Ger Lyons was concerned about his juvenile filly, Lady Iman taking on the older sprinters, and the ante-post favourite drifted on the day of the race. Adrian Murray's raider, Arizona Blaze went off as the favourite, with former Royal Ascot winner Asfoora coming into third-favouritism.

Ryan Moore rode three-year-old filly, Sayidah Dariyan for Richard Hughes. The speedy Night Raider, and Goodwood winner Jm Jungle were well-supported on the day too, while She's Quality, Frost At Dawn and Mgheera also received each-way support.

Spicy Marg bolstered the two-year-old contingent in this year's Nunthorpe Stakes. Big sprint regulars Washington Heights, Rumstar and Kerdos featured in the field. Celandine, Spartan Arrow, Manaccan and Ain't Nobody completed the line-up.

Night Raider took up the early running, with Manaccan joining the leader in the early stages. Asfoora was positioned behind the leaders early on, with Frost At Dawn moving up to challenge the pacesetters.

Lady Iman attempted to get forwards early, but couldn't match the older sprinters for speed. Arizona Blaze was another who couldn't claim his customary position at the head of the field, and began to drop away at the half-way stage.

The field bunched towards the centre of the track as the pace picked up. Night Raider couldn't sustain his challenge, and it was Asfoora who was the first to commit.

Oisin Murphy took the Australian raider to the front and Henry Dwyer's mare bounded into a three length lead. Frost As Dawn kept on well to her credit, with outsider Ain't Nobody storming home late on, but Asfoora put the race to bed at the furlong pole and kept on gamely to secure her second Group One win on British soil.

Ain't Nobody beat Frost At Dawn to second-place, with the front-running Night Raider holding on to place fourth. Rumstar stayed on well late in the day to finish fifth, with Jm Jungle, Mgheera, and Sayidah Dariyan challenging for the minors.
