Desert Flower will put her unbeaten record on the line when she lines up in the 2025 Epsom Oaks on Friday.

Charlie Appleby's filly was dominant as a juvenile in 2024. Desert Flower won her opening two starts on the July Course, before a routine triumph in the May Hill Stakes. William Buick's mount then powered to a superb victory in the Fillies' Mile and went into the winter as the firm favourite for the 1000 Guineas.

Desert Flower made her reappearance in that fabled Classic, where she was handed a tricky draw in stall one. Yet, the Even-money favourite broke well, travelled comfortably behind the pace and stretched a length clear of the field in the closing stages.

As soon as Desert Flower crossed the line in the 1000 Guineas, Charlie Appleby said that the Epsom Oaks was the plan and Buick's mount has topped the betting ever since.

Desert Flower will wear the royal blue silks of owners Godolphin and will be ridden by William Buick. Appleby's filly is number 1 on the list of Oaks entrants, but that will change once the field has been confirmed.
