The 2026 Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes at Ascot sees two-time defending champion Kalpana as the strong market leader after major wins in the King George and the Yorkshire Oaks. Kalpana faces competition from Lilt, stepping up in distance, and Sparan Nua, despite a recent poor run. Other contenders include Minnie Hauk, Johanna Walsh, Danielle, and several supplemented entries. Bookmakers offer 6/4 odds for Kalpana, underscoring her dominance ahead of British Champions Day.

Once the Champion Sprinter has been crowned, the contenders in this year's Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes will take to the Ascot track. This 12-furlong contest wasn't promoted to Group One status until 2013, and the two-time defending champion dominates the betting for this year's renewal.

Let's take a look through the latest Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes betting and run through the British Champions Day entries.

2026 Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes Entries

Kalpana has been in sparkling form since her second victory in this contest 12 months ago. Andrew Balding's mare has won the King George and the Yorkshire Oaks. Like last year, Kalpana travels to Champions Day on the back of a defeat in the Arc, and bookmakers are taking no chances with the market leader, offering 6/4 on Kalpana to win.

William Haggas' Lilt ran a cracker behind Thundering On in the Blandford Stakes, and this lightly raced three-year-old will step up to a mile and a half for the first time. Sparan Nua came within a whisker of upsetting Kalpana in the Yorkshire Oaks but has to bounce back after a poor performance in the Prix Vermeille.

Minnie Hauk could face off against Kalpana again, having finished five places behind her when tenth in the Arc. Irish Oaks winner Johanna Walsh has eight lengths to find with the market leader from their meeting in the Yorkshire Oaks. John and Thady Gosden's Danielle will be looking to build on a fifth-place finish in this race 12 months ago.

Balding has supplemented See The Fire into the contest, while Francis-Henri Graffard added Tajlina at the supplementary stage. Other runners include Aidan O'Brien's St Leger third Amelia Earhart, Johnny Murtagh's raider Believed, Coedana for Ed Bethell and Inis Mor for the David Menuisier team.
