2026 Dewhurst Stakes Entries

Desert Castle is a short price to hand Charlie Appleby his fourth victory in the Dewhurst. William Buick's mount maintained his unbeaten record with a dominant performance in the Champagne Stakes, after which Desert Castle was cut into 5/4 to win this Group One.

If Golden Fleece winner Darkness Falls is confirmed for the Dewhurst, then Aidan O'Brien's much-talked-about colt could rival Desert Castle for favouritism. Coventry Stakes winner Great Barrier Reef is another possible runner for Ballydoyle, having skipped the Middle Park Stakes. O'Brien has handed further entries to Wall Street, Giant Sequoia and Shakespeare.

Folsom Blues is an unlikely runner after taking part in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere, but Joseph O'Brien could still be represented by Monogram, who finished second to his stablemate in the National Stakes. William Haggas seems likely to rely on the once-raced Sharadd, who was wildly impressive when scoring on debut at Haydock.

Charlie Appleby also has Summer Stakes winner Al Hudaiba entered. The Godolphin silks could also be carried by Roger Varian's Rock Montreal. Other potential runners include Middle Park Stakes fourth Push The Boat Out, Zero Error for John and Thady Gosden, and Andrew Balding's colt Gentle Hurricane.
