Expensive purchase, Minnie Hauk looks set to spearhead Aidan O'Brien's assault on the 2025 Epsom Oaks.
Bred by the famous Sangster family, Coolmore paid almost £2m to bring this daughter of Frankel to Ballydoyle. Minnie Hauk suffered a surprise defeat on her racecourse debut in October, but bounced back at Leopardstown two weeks later, claiming a narrow maiden victory over a mile.
Ryan Moore took the ride on Minnie Hauk for the first time in the Chester Vase - a trial that Aidan O'Brien often utilises with his leading Oaks hopefuls. The market leader raced keenly at the head of affairs around Chester, but showed guts and plenty of stamina to maintain a one-length advantage all the way to the line.
Minnie Hauk will wear the purple and white silks of owners Derrick Smith, John Magnier and Michael Tabor. O'Brien's challenger is currently number five on the list of Oaks entries, but her number will change once the field has been confirmed.
