2026 Sussex Stakes Entries

Bow Echo and Gstaad look set to meet again on the famous Sussex Downs. George Boughey's star has beaten Aidan O'Brien's raider in both the 2000 Guineas and the St James's Palace Stakes, with Gstaad scoring in the Irish 2000 Guineas inbetween those runner-up finishes.

Charlie Appleby has entered Queen Anne Stakes third Opera Ballo, and he'll likely be the selection of William Buick. Lockinge winner Notable Speech only finished sixth in the Queen Anne, but boasts a better record around Goodwood, having won this Group One two years ago.

Lake Forest could return to a mile after a decent fifth in the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes. More Thunder looks set to return to Group One company following a disappointing fourth in the Summer Mile at Ascot. Ten Bob Tony shocked Opera Ballo, More Thunder and Notable Speech when landing the Queen Anne Stakes, and looks set to represent Ed Walker in this lucrative contest.

Qirat was a 150/1 outsider when he made all to land this race 12 months ago, and Ralph Beckett's star will return to Goodwood on the back of a welcome victory in the Criterion Stakes. Summer Mile winner Zeus Olympios is a possible runner for Karl Burke. Other likely Glorious Goodwood contenders include Aidan O'Brien's Puerto Rico, Docklands for Harry Eustace, Hugo Palmer's Seagulls Eleven, and Never So Brave for the Andrew Balding team.
