The 2000 Guineas results for 2026 are in after another dramatic day at Newmarket, where the first Classic of the flat season was handed out.
A technical glitch resulted in Gstaad being withdrawn from the 2000 Guineas last month. Aidan O'Brien and Coolmore decided to supplement their Breeders' Cup winner back into the race at the start of the week, and Ryan Moore's mount was backed into favouritism once the field was confirmed.
George Boughey's Bow Echo had been solid in the betting throughout the build-up, and Billy Loughnane's mount entered the widest stall of all. William Buick and Distant Storm were drawn on the opposite side of the track, with Charlie Appleby's second-string, King's Trail running from stall 13.
Oxagon beat Avicenna when the two met in the Craven Stakes last month, and both were popular with each-way bettors. As was Jim Boyle's Into The Sky, and William Haggas' Needle Match, despite a potentially tricky draw in stall one.
The first two from Leopardstown's Guineas trial, Thesecretadversary and Power Blue made the trip over from Ireland to contest Saturday's Classic. Padraig Dawn and Billecart clashed again following their meeting in the Burradon Stakes. Venetian Prince and Lord Britain completed the line-up.

After one of the most likely front-runners, Alparslan was withdrawn due to the fast ground, Into The Sky was expected to go forward. Jim Boyle's star did indeed break well, but Ryan Moore was the first to show aboard Gstaad, who flew out of the gates.
Into The Storm soon took over the running, as the field split into two distinct groups. Billecart joined Into The Sky in the early stages, with Needle Match and Distant Storm held up behind the far-side pace setters.
Gstaad led the larger group down the centre of the track. Venetian Prince broke well too, as the runners behind them jostled for position.
Going into the dip, the two fields merged together. Distant Storm began to reel Into The Sky in, but it was Gstaad who was the first to set off for home.
Billy Loughnane managed to slot Bow Echo in from stall 15, and made smooth progress as the groups merged. Soon, Loughnane had Ryan Moore in his crosshairs, and in the blink of an eye, Bow Echo put the race to bed.
George Boughey's leading colt put two, three and then four lengths between himself and Gstaad, allowing Loughnane to coast home and claim his first Classic victory.
Boughey, who won the 1000 Guineas with Cachet a few years ago, was delighted as Bow Echo maintained his unbeaten record. Gstaad ran a cracker to finish second, as the first two pulled a long way clear of the pack.
Distant Storm kept on well to finish third ahead of Into The Sky. Thesecretadversary secured a top-five finish for Fozzy Stack, ahead of Oxagon and Power Blue.
